Horse Racing Tips: Three for Evaluation this Saturday

There's seven meetings scheduled across Britain and Ireland on Saturday. First off is Newmarket, which hosts the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes and the Cesarewitch Heritage Handicap, while they also go at York, Chepstow, Fairyhouse, Hexham, Naas and Chelmsford.
Among my horse racing tips for Saturday is one for trainer Lucinda Russell in the day's big betting race.
Horse Racing Tips - Saturday, October 12
13:15 Newmarket - Liberty Lane @ 11/4
LIBERTY LANE is another horse to back on Saturday afternoon when contesting the £85,000 Group 3 1m1f Darley Stakes from Newmarket, representing Karl Burke in a nine-runner field.
Burke is 11-40 (28%) in the past fortnight including through Liberty Lane, who came clear of his smaller group far side to defeat 30 opponents in the Cambridgeshire Heritage Handicap over this course and distance towards the end of September.
The ground was officially soft, but the time-based ground was more akin to good to soft and he has previously won over this course and distance on good ground in any case, so the conditions will be ideal as he steps back into Group company for the first time since running seventh in the Group 2 Dante Stakes on the third start of his career.
This Group 3 prize is there for the taking, if building slightly on the peak Racing Post Rating (RPR) of 117 he achieved here last month.
Betfred are offering your stake back (up to £10) as a free bet if your selection in the 13:15 Newmarket finishes 2nd.

14:40 York - Northern Spirit e/w @ 14/1
Finally, NORTHERN SPIRIT has decent each-way claims when representing Brian Ellison in the feature £100,000 Class 2 6f Coral Sprint Trophy Heritage Handicap from York.
The selection arrives on a hat-trick, having won over this course and distance from a 5lb lower rating on good to soft ground last month. He has also won over this 6f trip on soft ground at Nottingham in the past, so conditions should be ideal.
The four-year-old achieved an RPR of 90 with that latest success, so should remain competitive off a new mark of 82, carrying a favourably low racing weight from a potentially favourable high draw, next to most of the confirmed forward-goers in the contest.
This is an Extra Place Race, with five on offer instead of four at 1/5 the odds for all each-way bets.

15:40 Newmarket - Evaluation e/w @ 25/1
Newmarket’s £175,000 Class 2 Cesarewitch Heritage Handicap can go to EVALUATION, representing Lucinda Russell.
The selection is given another chance to shine in a race that really should suit a horse with his staying attributes, having finished 12th of 21 in the 2022 running after a troubled passage through when first attempting this test when trained by Keith Dalgleish.
The Dubawi gelding registered his first success for his new yard at Wolverhampton in April and then ran second of 20 in Newcastle’s Northumberland Plate in June.
The six-year-old is 6-26 in all including five wins at around 2m and he is 3-6 on good ground suggesting the surface on Saturday will be ideal.
He ran better than a fifth placing of eight suggests in a muddling Mallard Handicap at Doncaster last month and should be right in the mix from a fair draw in stall seven if putting his best foot forward.
This is a Super Extra Place Race, with six on offer instead of four at 1/5 the odds for all each-way bets.
