There are four meetings taking place across Britain on a busy start to the week, with jumps and all-weather fare in equal measure.

The National Hunt cards come from Plumpton and Hereford and are joined by Kempton's quality all-weather meeting in the afternoon before Wolverhampton takes over in the evening slot.

We've picked out a trio to follow - including one for Charlie Appleby and William Buick at Kempton as they return to home soil after Breeders' Cup glory in California on Saturday.

Monday Racing Tips

  • 14:37 Plumpton - Monjules @ 12/1
  • 15:30 Kempton - Measured Time @ 4/7
  • 16:00 Kempton - Liseo @ 14/1

14:37 Plumpton - Monjules @ 12/1

It's a decent jumps card at Plumpton and their feature is the Mannok Build GB Ltd Handicap Hurdle, with a top prize in excess of £18k on offer.

Last year's winner Lord Baddesley is back – rated 6lb higher now and reverting to hurdles having been chasing – while Chepstow's Silver Trophy winner Pyramid Place is entitled to claims despite a 7lb.

They are taken on with Monjules for trainer Harry Fry on his seasonal comeback.

He had a good first season with this trainer last time, winning three times over timber, and was in good tune in the spring when last spotted.

He's still just five but has plenty of experience and there should be more to come this season. He won last term after a 306-absence so the lack of a recent run is not obvious now and he should go well.

15:30 Kempton - Measured Time @ 4/7

It was a trip to that California that proved well worth it for Appleby and Buick as Master Of The Seas got up by a short-head to thwart the 1000 Guineas winner Mawj in a thrilling Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita.

In the same Godolphin blue, they head for Kempton on Monday afternoon looking to take out the Listed Floodlit Stakes with Measured Time.

The Frankel colt has won all three starts so far and, who knows, if he keeps progressing could have Breeders' Cup ambitions of his own in the future.

After a pair of mile wins here, he made a smooth winning start in handicaps at Newmarket in August upped to 1m2f when coming away by five-lengths.

After that he's up to a rating of 101 and that suggests he's well worth a crack in this grade now. He faces a trio of useful rivals, specifically fellow 3YO Lion's Pride for John & Thady Gosden, but he may have too much for them.

16:00 Kempton - Liseo @ 14/1

The London Middle Distance Series Final, a valuable Class 2 contest, is also on Kempton's menu on Monday afternoon and Liseo could be the answer to a tricky puzzle for Simon & Ed Crisford.

The Lope De Vega gelding has shown a liking for synthetic surfaces, placing on his first three starts before scoring at Chelmsford over 1m2f in September.

In one run since – off this mark – he finished a fair fourth at Windsor on ground that was probably more testing than he would like.

Graignes, who ran well in the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket five weeks ago, is amongst a few dangers, but Liseo has scope for better in this sphere and should get involved under David Probert.
