Flat racing takes centre stage on Monday with four meetings across the UK and Ireland. There’s also one National Hunt meeting which means there’s something to cater for everyone’s tastes.

Amongst our Monday racing tips is one for trainer Saeed Bin Suroor who's thoroughly unexposed in handicaps and the best is yet to come.

  • 16:00 Redcar - Arctic Mountain @ 5/1
  • 18:40 Windsor - Amazonian Dream @ 5/1
  • 20:00 Carlisle - Redarna @ 7/4

16:00 Redcar - Arctic Mountain @ 5/1

This race is an interesting puzzle to ponder and Saeed Bin Suroor could provide the answer with his runner ARCTIC MOUNTAIN.

The son of Nathaniel has had just four starts to date and only made his handicap debut when last seen. His first three starts in maiden and novice company showed plenty of promise and he should be winning races sooner rather than later.

Bin Suroor’s gelding came closer than ever to getting off the mark when beaten a neck by 88-rated Al Anoud at Chelmsford in August. That form has since been boosted by the winner who went on to follow up under a penalty.

Arctic Mountain appeared to be lacking sharpness on seasonal and handicap debut at Bath last time, where he could manage only a well beaten third despite going off favourite. The soft ground also appeared to be an issue and the sounder surface here is likely to suit.

It would be disappointing if he’s not competitive off a mark of 79 here, as this looks like a good opportunity to get the win.

18:40 Windsor - Amazonian Dream @ 5/1

Windsor’s feature race is a fair 0-88 handicap over 6f which has attracted a field of seven.

Rod Millman runs previous course winner AMAZONIAN DREAM here and a return to the winners’ enclosure could be on the agenda.

His two starts so far this term have been a little underwhelming but the handicapper is beginning to relent and a 2lb drop in the weights will certainly help. It’s worth noting that he’s currently rated 2lb lower than his highest winning mark of 80 so there should be no excuses on that front.

Oisin Murphy is on board for the ninth time and he’s ridden the horse to victory once and was narrowly denied on him at Goodwood and Salisbury last seen.

Good to firm ground is unlikely to be a problem as he’s won on it before and he’s entitled to run a big race here.

20:00 Carlisle - Redarna @ 7/4

The Dianne Sayer-trained veteran REDARNA certainly knows his way around Carlisle, having raced here 15 times.

Redarna has won at the track four times and finished third a further five times. On that evidence, it seems likely that he can run his race once again.

It was a fair effort when a two-length fourth in the Thirsk Hunt Cup last time out and the drop in grade is very interesting. He only just about creeps into this 0-85 and it would be no surprise to see him take full advantage.

While the 10-year-old isn’t getting younger, he’s still maintaining a fair level of form and he won here over 7f off a 1lb lower mark back in August. Sayer’s gelding could well be the one to side with here.
