Horse Racing Tips: LongShotValue has two for Betfred Oaks day!

There is no need for a long winded explanation here. Bopedro looked to be really getting into form last time out, when a fast finishing third in a similar race at York.

I’m surprised he isn’t a fair bit shorter here. He has somehow gone down a pound for that excellent run. As always with Bopedro, we’ll need luck in running as he will be coming home late and fast. At the price we're getting, it's easily worth the risk!

It’s not often I get excited with a price in the 4/1 range, but I think in this case a bet is warranted. Emily Upjohn got a fantastic Frankie special ride last year to win this, beating Westover.

This does look like the best form on offer on the face of it, but I think the fact that she came fast and wide and caught Westover by surprise, is what lead to a great win. It was also on good/firm ground which its very unlikely to be tomorrow.

The softer ground is also a negative for Luxembourg at this trip, as although he is a top class Group 1 horse, these conditions don’t look to be ideal for him over the mile and a half.

That leaves me finally to my pick Feed the Flame. His last run in France was really eye catching, against top class French Group 1 horses that have since performed again in another Group 1. That was over 10 furlongs and as his best run ever was in soft ground over 12 last year in the Grand Prix de Paris, this trip is sure to suit. He is overpriced because of a poor run on effectively firm ground in the Arc, which wouldn’t have suited. This race looks a long term plan, and he should be coming fast and late here.

There has been plenty of money for Hamish because of softer ground, but I think he has fair way to go to win a 12 furlong Group 1.
