Horse Racing Tips: Djelo to strike Gold on Friday

There's a mixture of Flat and Jumps racing in the UK & Ireland on Friday, with five meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening.
Among my Friday horse racing tips is a six-year-old chaser representing Venetia Williams in the feature race at Exeter.
Horse Racing Tips - Friday, November 8
14:25 Exeter - Djelo @ 9/4
A field of six are set to go to post in a slightly substandard running of the G2 Haldon Gold Cup from Exeter on Friday afternoon, a traditional early-season highlight which took place on a Tuesday until switched to a Friday ahead of the 2022 running.
Eight of the ten winners since 2014 were officially rated 151+, but the highest-rated runner in this field is the 149-rated Jpr One, who looks like the pick from Joe Tizzard’s two runners. However, Scarface does receive a levelling 17lb and Harry Cobden is an interesting riding arrangement.
An in-form Dan Skelton is also running two, but Etalon would likely prefer an easier surface than the current good, and Heltenham is yet to win racing right-handed.
Paul Nicholls has won four runnings since 2014, and Bryony Frost is a welcome sight returning to these shores for the ride on the French-bred six-year-old Sans Bruit, but she may have to play second fiddle to another French-bred six-year-old in the 147-rated DJELO, representing Venetia Williams.
The selection may prove better suited to a decent surface, is 2-2 at this time of year, 2-6 racing right-handed and 4-11 under Charlie Deutsch.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
15:35 Exeter - Beachcomber @ 7/2
BEACHCOMBER is the suggestion in the nine-runner handicap chase over three miles at Exeter, representing the Jonjo and AJ O’Neill training partnership.
Their Cheltenham yard has sent out five winners from their 27 runners in the past fortnight.
Beachcomber won a 3m1f maiden hurdle on good ground at Huntingdon in this month last year and then won a better-class handicap hurdle over the same course and distance in January.
The six-year-old was returning from a break when reaching an encouraging third of nine on his chasing debut at Chepstow last month.
He is entitled to build on that return to action from the same mark and the switch to a right-handed course on a better surface are further positives ahead of Friday's race.

16:10 Exeter - Sunninghill @ 11/4
Finally, SUNNINGHILL makes plenty of appeal entering handicap company from an exploitable mark of 104 in the concluding handicap hurdle on the Exeter card.
The selection is representing the Somerset training partnership of Philip Hobbs and Johnson White, who went 4-13 (31%) with their runners in the past fortnight.
He achieved a Racing Post Rating (RPR) of 72 over 1m2f on the Flat, and showed improved form when reaching third of 13 on his second hurdles start at Uttoxeter last month on good ground. This stiffer course should suit.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
