It’s another busy day of action with eight meetings on Friday, six in Britain and two in Ireland.

Here, we focus on the evening action at Fairyhouse which includes a couple of interesting maidens that could throw up some nice types.

Amongst our fancies is a runner that’s had a particularly significant form boost in the last week.

Horse Racing Odds

18:10 Fairyhouse - Galen @ 10/11

As far as form boosts go, Galen’s debut effort as a two-year-old couldn’t be looking much better.

He chased home Saturday’s Betfred Derby winner, City Of Troy, when beaten just over two lengths at the Curragh last July and while that form clearly shouldn’t be taken literally, there’s no doubt it was a strong maiden with several others coming out and winning since.

Galen has run just once since, another solid effort in a Curragh maiden when chasing home a nice type last month and his rival who he lost out to that day (Super Sox), had the benefit of a recent run behind him.

The selection here already sets a pretty solid standard on what he’s done in two runs so far and with the potential of him coming on for his latest effort (a first run in 11 months), this well bred son of Gleneagles could take some beating on ground he should relish

18:40 Fairyhouse - Ozark Daze @ 6/4

This is another maiden that could throw up a few nice types but the one that looks hard to beat on this occasion is Ozark Daze, who has plenty of experience under his belt now.

He’s left his juvenile form behind in three runs this year, going close in a Dundalk maiden on the all-weather before another two placed-efforts in turf maiden

This son of Oasis Dream gave the impression he would benefit from going up in trip to this sort of distance at the Curragh last time.

Like Galen in the former race, he already sets the standard on what has been achieved so far and if he does find any further improvement, he could be a tough nut to crack.

20:17 Fairyhouse - Hinemoa @ 20/1

The finale on the card isn’t the most competitive handicap of the day and one that could go well at an each-way sort of price could be Hinemoa.

She ran poorly on her recent return but that was on very testing ground and she’s much better on a sounder surface, as seen on all-weather through the winter.

She remains on a very workable mark on her best form and she’s yet to encounter quick ground on turf, a surface that should suit given her propensity to go well on artificial surfaces.

She should leave her recent return behind and this a mile and a half specialist can outrun her odds.
