Horse Racing Tips: Crebilly worth a look at Kempton

There is a mixture of jumps and flat racing across the UK and Ireland on Friday with five meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening.
First off is Kempton, where they race from 12:50-16:33), before they go to Lingfield (13:02-16:40), Bangor-On-Dee (13:12-16:25), Southwell (16:10-20:15) and Dundalk (16:15-19:30).
Amongst our horse racing tips for Friday is one having his second start for trainer Danny Brooke who caught the eye on his recent yard debut.
Horse Racing Tips - Friday, February 7
15:25 Kempton - Crebilly @ 4/1
Crebilly shaped as if he would be better for the run on his recent return from 99 days off when finishing this at Windsor last month.
That was a promising performance given it came over an inadequate two miles behind some smart race fit rivals, including the winner Matata who looks likely to be contesting the Champion Chase in March.
This contest is a drop in grade for Jonjo O’Neill’s runner, while he should also relish the step back up to 2m4f.
A 2lb drop in the weights leaves Crebilly on the same 140 mark that he finished second from at last year's Cheltenham festival. He should put up a bold bid to defy top weight.

16:10 Southwell - Nikovo @ 17/2
The opening contest at Southwell is a very competitive mile handicap, with an each-way shout given to the progressive Nikovo.
The son of Kingman ran out an impressive winner at Newcastle on just his second start for the in-form Micheal Herrington yard.
Nikovo then finished fifth at the same venue over the same distance last time out in a higher grade, but he didn’t get the clearest of runs that day and there were still positives to take from that effort.
A proven winner on tapeta, this is a drop back in class and the selection should go close despite a career-high mark of 91.
This is an Extra Place Race, meaning that Betfred are paying 4 Places (1/5 Odds) instead of 3.

17:45 Southwell - The Green Man @ 25/1
The Green Man finished third on his debut for trainer Danny Brooke in December and he shaped better than the two and a half-length defeat may suggest.
That form has been franked since with the second-placed Mondammej winning his next two starts and fourth-placed Rhythm N Hooves having also been successful since.
A winner from higher marks on turf, the Acclamation gelding is also back on the same mark of 80 as his previous sole victory on an artificial surface.
The Green Man is entitled to step forward from that recent return to action and will be suited by a strong pace to aim at in this Southwell race.
