Horse Racing Tips: Amelia can give O’Brien more Oaks success

Flat racing takes centre stage across the UK and Ireland on Friday, with eight meetings scheduled throughout the afternoon and evening and the undoubted highlight of the day is the Group 1 Oaks at Epsom.
Epsom kick-starts the action, followed by meetings at Thirsk and Musselburgh, before attention turns to a busy evening of action at Fairyhouse, Bath, Clonmel, Doncaster and Goodwood. Among Friday's fancies is Oaks favourite Amelia Earhart, bidding to give Aidan O'Brien his seventh success in 11 years.

16:00 Epsom - Amelia Earhart @ 2/1
AMELIA EARHART ran several creditable races as a two-year-old without getting her head in front, including a good second in a Class 2 maiden at Newmarket.
She matched her best RPR when fourth behind Black Caviar Gold at the Curragh before finally shedding her maiden tag at the fifth attempt when stepped up in trip for the first time, winning comfortably.
Aidan O'Brien's filly looked the type to improve with age and duly delivered on her seasonal return in the Chester Oaks. She looked much more professional when asked the question and relished the step up in distance.
This does not look the strongest Oaks on paper and a strongly run 1m4f should play to her strengths. There could be plenty more to come from her.

17:35 Bath - Bill The Bull @ 8/13
The Adam Kirby-trained two-year-old BILL THE BULL has some solid form to his name, including a promising fourth in the Brocklesby at Doncaster on debut, where he showed plenty of speed behind A Bear Affair.
He improved on that effort when switched to the AW at Wolverhampton, finishing third to Agamemnon, who looks a useful type.
His best effort came last week at Sandown when stepped up in class for the Listed National Stakes. Sent off at big odds, he outran them to finish fourth, beaten just a length. He set a strong pace and was only edged out close home.
That is the standout form on offer here and, if he can reproduce that performance back down in class, he should prove hard to peg back.

18:55 Doncaster - King’s Cavalry @ 6/5
Son of Kingman KING'S CAVALRY made an encouraging start to his career as a two-year-old when finishing fifth at a big price behind the smart-looking Yazin in a strong Newmarket novice last year, a race that has produced plenty of subsequent winners.
He returned with a similarly promising effort at Leicester, finishing second to the unbeaten I'll Be Back and proving he had retained plenty of ability on his first start as three-year-old.
The James Tate-trained colt got off the mark at the third attempt when winning comfortably despite racing keenly in the early stages. The form has since received a boost, with fifth-placed Masked Warrior scoring readily at Kempton next time out.
He still looks like a work in progress, but this opening handicap mark could underestimate him and there may be plenty more to come.
