Horse Racing Tips: The Famous Five looks set to go on another adventure

Five meetings are taking place across the UK and Ireland on Friday afternoon and into the evening.
First off is Lingfield before they go at Newbury and Ffos Las. This evening action comes from Dundalk and Southwell. Amongst our Friday fancies is one for trainer Venetia Williams who returns to the scene of her last win.
Horse Racing Tips - Friday, February 28
15:00 Lingfield - Motawahij @ 7/1
Motawahij got off the mark finally last time out with an impressive win at Newcastle. Having gone close a number of times previously he dropped back into Maiden company and duly delivered.
Sent off at short odds he showcased his ability getting a tow from one of the outsiders and finished the race strongly in the final two furlongs, an impressive performance and one he can build upon.
He has been gelded since his win and will have to be at his best now back in handicaps, but the drop back to five furlongs on the all-weather should suit, as it seems to be where he is at his absolute best. He should go well again here and has every chance to double up.

16:10 Lingfield - Roaring Legend @ 3/1
Having been tried over jumps last year with limited success, Roaring Legend returned to flat racing on the all-weather at the turn of the year with his new trainer Hugo Palmer and that decision to come back has paid dividends immediately.
Since his switch he has posted back-to-back wins, first of all at Wolverhampton with an impressive success where he pulled clear of the field in the closing stages showing that he had retained his class, and then again at Newcastle where he did not have it all his way when stepping up in class, but he once again showed he was a force to be reckoned with.
He has proven himself to be a top-class stayer and even though he will have to carry top weight again, he should have too much class for the rest of the field and another win will surely see him attending the All-Weather finals day.

16:33 Newbury - The Famous Five @ 15/8
Notching a course and distance win over the Christmas period has been the highlight of an otherwise reasonable campaign for the Venetia Williams-trained The Famous Five.
He got off to a bad start in his first race this season when finishing way back at Newbury in November, but since then has been a model of consistency. A credible third place at Windsor was followed up with the aforementioned win over course and distance before respectable runs at Haydock and Chepstow.
He showed his versatility by stepping up in trip last time out and was only just beaten in the closing stages.
One down side for him is that his jumping is not always fluent and can be off to the left. However, he should be back to his best now back at two miles and another strong performance looks likely.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
