Horse Racing Tips: Newmarket a safe place for punters

The second day of the Cambridgeshire meeting is the main attraction across Friday’s cards in Britain, and we’ve focused our attention on the stellar action at Newmarket.
Below are our three selections for our horse racing tips for Friday.
Horse Racing Tips - Friday, September 27
13:50 Newmarket - Rolica @ 5/1
Spiritual is the early favourite for the Rosemary Stakes, but she doesn’t set a daunting standard and preference is for Rolica, who was a place and two lengths behind her in the Atalanta Stakes at Sandown last time.
Spiritual was always well positioned given how events unfolded there while Rolica, who briefly became outpaced, found a second wind to stay on nicely by the far rail.
The selection was a big market drifter at Sandown and that suggested she would have needed her return from three months off. If she finds some progress, she should be tough to beat under William Buick.
We know she can handle the undulations of the Rowley Mile as she defied her inexperience to finish sixth in the 1,000 Guineas over course and distance earlier in the campaign.
This is an Extra Place Race so Betfred will be paying 3 Places (1/5 Odds) instead of 2.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
14:25 Newmarket - Place Of Safety @ 7/2
Place Of Safety is another lightly raced type to appeal at Newmarket in the Dubai Stakes with doubts over the other market protagonists regarding the surface.
Admittedly that query also applies to Place Of Safety as she is unraced on slow ground, but being by Night Of Thunder and out of a Le Havre mare, you would have few worries about her handling conditions.
John and Thady Gosden have brought this filly along steadily and there was plenty to like about her second in the Chalice Stakes on the July course last time to suggest she could be one to note in the autumn.
She has stepped forward markedly with each run and another jolt of progress would make her tough to beat on her return from almost two months off.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
15:35 Newmarket - Prague @ 4/1
Prague should have no worries about the rain that hit Newmarket leading into this meeting, having dotted up on his debut a few months ago in a decent Sandown maiden that was run on good-to-soft ground.
The four-year-old hasn’t hit the target in three subsequent runs, but shaped as if he was stretched by middle distances before notching a career-best in the Superior Mile at Haydock last time. This mile trip appeared to be the making of him there.
He travelled like the winner after being held up from off the pace but Danny Tudhope was unable to find the gaps until it was too late behind a decent yardstick in Holloway Boy.
Prague rates the better long-term prospect of that pair and can raise his game again on soft ground. There should be plenty more to come from Dylan Cunha’s stable star.
This is an Extra Place Race so Betfred will be paying 3 Places (1/5 Odds) instead of 2.
