Horse Racing Tips: Liteaux can land the big one in Wales

Jumps racing holds sway across the UK and Ireland on Friday with six meetings taking place across the afternoon and into the evening. First up is Chepstow, where the Welsh Grand National takes centre stage, with good action elsewhere including Leopardstown, Limerick and Kempton.

Amongst our Friday horse racing tips is one for Dan Skelton in the Welsh Grand National, who has been running well and this has likely been the plan for some time.

13:27 Limerick - Shecouldbeanything @ 13/8

SHECOULDBEANYTHING put together a string of four wins in a row earlier in the season, before not running her true race at Fairyhouse at the start of the month. She has plenty of experience chasing, especially over Bioluminescence, who is yet to go over fences.

She does have to shoulder a 3lb penalty for winning a Grade 3 chase earlier in the season, but that form along with her run at Bangor are much stronger than anything else on offer here and she can make that count.

14:30 Kempton - Edwardstone @ 7/2

This is a tricky handicap to work out, but it can pay dividends to side with EDWARDSTONE, who although not at his best when last seen, has got the strongest form in the book and can outclass the rest of the field.

His rating has dropped from 166 to 163 since March, and with some good efforts in this period to show he still retains a high level of ability, he can win off this reduced mark.

14:50 Chepstow - Galia Des Liteaux @ 11/2

On her two starts this season GALIA DES LITEAUX has shaped with plenty of promise, confirming the potential we saw in April when she ran so well for such a long way in the Grand National.

Last seen in the Coral Gold Cup at Newbury, she ran well for a long period and didn’t finish too far back on ground that would have been quicker than ideal for her. The softer conditions here along with the step up in trip are sure to suit the mare and she will take a lot of beating.

15:00 Leopardstown - Midnight Our Fred @ 20/1

Of his seven starts over fences MIDNIGHT OUR FRED has finished in the top three on five occasions, including when winning when last seen at Gowran Park in October. That was over a shorter trip than here but on his three runs prior to this he has proven himself a strong stayer and this won’t be a problem

The handicapper has raised him 9lb for the victory, but the manner of that success suggests this should be within him for the improving seven-year-old, and with Alex Harvey claiming 5lb this negates much of the rise.

The victory came on his first start of the season, he has had a good bit of time off since and he is one I’d expect to be there with a real chance at the finish.
