There are two meetings in Ireland on Tuesday, with the novelty of Laytown and a good-class card at Galway.

The Ballybrit track stages eight races starting at 15:50 and is highlighted by the Ardilaun Hotel Irish EBF Oyster Stakes Listed Race at 18:25.

The first handicap of the day at Galway takes place at 16:55 and 14 runners are set to go to post.

Galway Tips

  • 16:55 – One Cool Poet @ 11/1
  • 17:55 – Giuseppe Cassioli @ 2/1
  • 18:55 – Kermiya @ 9/4

16:55 – One Cool Poet @ 11/1

One Cool Poet is an 11-year-old now, but the likable and talented veteran looks to hold strong claims.

The Matthew Smith-trained runner has won three times at the Ballybrit venue and has also finished second twice.

A second-placed finish at Leopardstown in June indicates that there is plenty of ability remaining and a mark of 74 looks more than workable.

17:55 – Giuseppe Cassioli @ 2/1

Giuseppe Cassioli put up an excellent performance when finishing second in a competitive Killarney contest last time out and Darren Bunyan’s charge looks a winner in waiting.

The six-year-old has never won on turf, but he is a three-time winner on the all-weather and Bunyan’s runner is operating off a 7lbs lower mark on the grass.

The last-time-out effort suggests that Giuseppe Cassioli has no problem handling the turf and that is added to another good run at Curragh. He is the market leader and he can justify that at Galway this evening.

18:55 – Kermiya @ 9/4

Kermiya is a lightly raced, unexposed and well-bred three-year-old and looks in good hands with trainer Johnny Murtagh.

The filly stayed on well to finish third at Navan last time out, and while a drop back to one mile and four-furlongs is a slight concern, she looks ahead of her mark.

There should be a good pace to aim at this evening, which will suit Kermiya and she looks good value to take out the 18:55.
