There's seven races, starting at 12:15, to enjoy from south Wales on Wednesday, with the ground forecast to be "soft".

I've studied the card and come up with a few Ffos Las tips for your consideration.

Ffos Las Tips - Wednesday, November 20

  • 12:50 - Wonder Of The Seas @ 15/2
  • 14:35 - Lermoos Legend @ 4/1
  • 15:10 - Cast's Tasha @ 6/1

12:50 - Wonder Of The Seas @ 15/2

The Nigel Twiston-Davies team remain in excellent fettle and WONDER OF THE SEAS may be able to get off the mark under rules at the tenth time of asking in the Novices' Handicap Chase over three miles.

While Wonder Of The Seas remains a maiden, the six-year-old has finished runner-up in three of his four chase starts, which includes on his seasonal return over this trip at Uttoxeter 45 days ago.

The winner, Ballyrashane, has since been a close third while two further down the field have come out and won, giving the form some substance.

That came on good ground and, although he saw the trip out resolutely, he got tapped for toe at a key part in the race and may be suited to these more taxing conditions.

Being only a six-year-old, there should be plenty more to come from him off a mark of 85 and many of his rivals are either returning from a lay-off or unproven on soft ground.

14:35 - Lermoos Legend @ 4/1

LERMOOS LEGEND was a convincing 11-length winner over two miles at this venue 10 days ago and, although having to tackle a further three and a half furlongs, a 7Ib penalty looks unlikely to stop him.

The 5Ib claim of Shane Fenelon should make things easier and he is still way below his career-high mark, having been placed off 14Ib higher only two seasons ago.

With soft ground of no hindrance and his stamina guaranteed - he has won over 2m7f in the past - everything looks primed for the Peter & Michael Bowen-trained nine-year-old to record a follow-up victory.

15:10 - Cast's Tasha @ 6/1

Dorset handler Ben Clarke has tasted victory with his last two runners and the winning sequence may continue with seven-year-old CAST'S TASHA in the 2m6f Mares' Handicap Hurdle.

Carrying 12 stone under these conditions won’t be an easy task, especially on her first run of the season, but the softer the ground the better and she has proven herself to go well fresh in the past.

Cast's Tasha won at this venue off 5Ib lower over fences last season, but reverting back to hurdles should prove no problem and she has been a model of consistency, finishing out the first three only twice in her last eight starts.
