On the cards on Tuesday is a six-race affair at Fakenham, featuring the Norfolk National Handicap Chase. They go at 14:15 and finish shortly after the ultimate contest at 16:55, with ground conditions forecast to be 'good'.

I've picked out a few Fakenham tips for you to consider - including a potential improver for Paul Nicholls whose connections will be looking to make her mark over jumps for the first time.

Fakenham Tips

  • 14:45 – Seeyouinmydreams @ 8/11
  • 15:15 – Kings Justice @ 6/4
  • 16:20 – Planned Paradise @ 4/1

14:45 – Seeyouinmydreams @ 8/11

A Mares' Maiden Hurdle over two-and-a-half-miles is the second offering on the Fakenham card and it could be a good opening for newly-crowned champion jockey Harry Cobden to strike for Paul Nicholls on board SEEYOUINMYDREAMS.

The daughter of Telescope won a Newbury bumper first time out in March 2023, scoring with lots in hand, before struggling the following month in a Grade 2 at Aintree.

She wasn't spotted again until November and was prominent in the betting for her hurdles bow in a novice contest at Newbury, but she was pulled up by Cobden after folding tamely three jumps from home.

It's improbable she gave her true running there and, having undergone a wind op, an improved showing is likely now.

She sports a first-time hood and Nicholls appears to have found a weak race in which his mare can take advantage.

15:15 – Kings Justice @ 6/4

Two-miles-and-five-furlongs is the trip in store for the Greene King Handicap Chase and Sam Allwood can land the spoils here with KINGS JUSTICE.

The gelded son of Pether's Moon is a six-year-old with a likeable profile in this sort of grade.

Pulled up on his chasing bow at Southwell in October, he's has a win and three seconds from five outings since, and might have notched another success at Catterick in March had he not been brought down late on.

His win arrived at that same venue over 2m3f in December and he was beaten less than a length last time out at Hereford when upped to this distance for the first time.

Claiming rider Toby Wynne was on board for that effort and they came clear of the remainder only to find Bring The Action too game in front.

They are 3lb higher in the ratings for this race but another success could be imminent.

16:20 – Planned Paradise @ 4/1

The feature race is the Norfolk National Handicap Chase over a stamina-sapping three-miles-and-five-furlongs and a chance is taken on PLANNED PARADISE with Cobden again on board.

Trainer Christian Williams is adept at lining up a runner for this sort of marathon contest and his three-time winner over fences is less exposed than plenty of these rivals.

He returned from a break with a good third over 2m5f (good) at this venue last month and it's significant he now rises dramatically in trip.

The eight-year-old is a previous course winner and the booking of the champion rider is a positive for a horse carrying bottom-weight on his second start after a wind op.
