Corach Rambler Grand National Odds 2024: 2023 Champ opens as Betting Favourite

Defending champion Corach Rambler returns to the Aintree Grand National on the back of an impressive run in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, where the 10-year-old stayed on impressively going up the hill on extremely soft ground to finish third in what was, for him, a prep race for this one.

His trainer Lucinda Russell was delighted with his performance at Cheltenham despite not winning and insists that her horse is fully ready to become a back-to-back Grand National winner.

Corach Rambler had gone into the Gold Cup having yet to taste defeat at the Cheltenham Festival, having won the Ultima Handicap in both 2022 and 2023 but he out-performed his odds in what was his first race of 2024 and that performance immediately saw a market move that moved him to the head of the betting market.

It is always tough for a favourite to win the Grand National in such a big field but the last horse to do was indeed Corach Rambler a year ago. In 2023, Derek Fox rode him with ease and didn’t force the pace, allowing his horse to travel comfortably until hitting the front before the last and won the race going away.
