Cheveley Park Stakes 2024 Tips: Vive la France!

A stacked card at Newmarket on Saturday features the Cheveley Park Stakes - a Group 1 over six furlongs for two-year-old fillies.
Eight go to post and I've picked out a couple of French raiders as my Cheveley Park Stakes 2024 tips.
Daylight @ 13/2
There's been several French-trained winners of the Cheveley Park Stakes over the years and I'm hoping the tally increases on Saturday.
Patrice Cottier's DAYLIGHT is one of two making the journey across The Channel for this £291k contest, and as far as I'm concerned she has every chance.
The daughter of Earthlight - who won the Middle Park on this very card back in 2019 - won a Group 3 at Deauville on just her third start in good style, before an eye-catching third behind Whistlejacket, who's a warm favourite for the aforementioned Middle Park, in the G1 Prix Morny last month.
In rear throughout, Cottier's filly was stuck behind a bunch of horses at the two-furlong pole when travelling menacingly and she had to wait for a gap before making her challenge. It all happened a little too late in the end, but she was running on strongly at the finish and I believe that performance can be marked up.
She's only two pounds inferior to the market leaders Babouche and Lake Victoria, who I find difficult to separate, on official ratings and she's sure to cope with conditions if the forecast rain arrives, which can't be guaranteed for the majority of her seven rivals.
At 13/2, she's a little overpriced for me.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Rayevka e/w @ 10/1
Another for whom the ground won't be an issue is Francis Graffard's RAYEVKA.
The Aga Khan-owned Blue Point filly looks an extremely exciting prospect after bolting up at Chantilly the other week on just her second start.
She was a widening five lengths clear of the runner-up, with a horse called Star Of Brittany back in fifth (beaten over nine lengths) which is a good indicator as to how much the selection improved between runs, given that rival was just under two lengths behind Rayevka when she finished a narrow second on her racecourse debut at Deauville the previous month.
Of course, this is a major step up and it might come too soon in her career, but she was mightily impressive last time out and connections are fairly bullish about how she's been training of late.
Graffard believes she'll be a better filly on nicer ground, but we know she acts on deep ground so conditions won't be a hindrance.
Hopefully the eight runners turn up and Rayevka can be backed to make the first three. If we get seven or fewer, the suggestion is to just back her to win.
