Chepstow Tips: Bear can roar home at Chepstow

A busy Tuesday is forthcoming with six cards in Britain and Ireland and there is something for everyone.
The Flat turf action at Chepstow is where we have concentrated our attention and we’ve found three wagers at the Welsh track, including a fast-improving sprinter who can continue on an upward curve. Read on for my Chepstow tips.

15:20 - Glencalvie @ 15/2
Adrian Wintle has endured a frustrating run of seconds but that spell can come to an end with Glencalvie in the mile handicap at Chepstow.
Glencalvie’s mark has been on the slide since she joined Wintle from Phil McEntee and her past two performances have suggested she is coming to hand.
She produced an encouraging effort when fourth at a big price in first-time cheekpieces at Nottingham last month and has dropped a mark 11lb lower than her previous winning one.
That victory came on fast ground at Yarmouth and this will be the quickest surface she has encountered since. This looks a good opportunity for the daughter of Gleneagles to notch a third career victory with conditions to suit.

16:20 - Bear Rock @ 5/2
Bear Rock looks a sprinter on the up and she is taken to record a second straight success in the 6f handicap later at Chepstow.
The daughter of Fascinating Rock recorded a good Topspeed figure when fourth over 5f on her handicap debut at Doncaster’s Lincoln meeting in March and improved on that form when scoring over an additional furlong at Haydock next time.
It was a good performance on the clock from Bear Rock, who was always up there with a decent pace throughout.
The lightly raced four-year-old beat 16 rivals there and a 3lb rise underestimates her. She seems certain to keep progressing and this race looks weaker.
Hollie Doyle, who takes the ride for the first time, is a positive jockey booking as well.

16:55 - Forest Spirit @ 11/4
Bar two disappointing efforts over 1m6f, Forest Spirit has enjoyed a productive spell in middle-distance handicaps. She is taken to capture Chepstow’s 1m4f contest after a solid effort at Windsor recently.
That was Forest Spirit’s first start on turf and she kept on promisingly into third after being given too much to do in a steadily run race.
The way she defied a similar set of circumstances two starts earlier at Wolverhampton (a wide trip not helping there either) was particularly impressive, but this time the task proved beyond her.
The hope is she gets a decent pace to chase for this assignment. If so, there is no reason why the daughter of Waldgeist can’t strike for the third time in her past five starts for Michael Bell, whose horses are running superbly.
