Cheltenham racecourse 2

The feature race of day three at the Cheltenham Festival (Thursday) is the eye-catching Stayers' Hurdle (16:00), which has been won by stars such as Flooring Porter and Paisley Park. The former was the last horse to go back-to-back in 2021 and 2022.

Hoping to follow in his footsteps is Gordon Elliott's Teahupoo, the victor last year. Below you will find the Stayers' Hurdle odds for 2025.

Stayers' Hurdle Odds

Teahupoo @ 6/4

Elliot's star won this race 12 months ago, after a close third-place finish in 2023. He's been the antepost favourite for the last 12 months and if he can match his form from last March, he's going to be hard to stop.

Posted a respectable second-place finish on last appearance at Fairyhouse to Lossiemouth. Travelled well, so a good run is expected here. Would put his name amongst legends if he can defend his crown.

Home By The Lee @ 6/1

Home By The Lee is being backed as the second favourite here. Gave a good account of himself in this race in 2023, before improving up to third last year. The Joseph O'Brien-trained gelding is a two-time Grade 1 winner at Leopardstown.

O'Brien and his connections feel like he is in the best shape yet heading to Prestbury Park this time around, and he could be in within a chance if his closest rivals falter, especially with the pressure being on Teahupoo.

Lucky Place @ 13/2

If you are one for superstitions, this could be the horse for you. This one is trained by Nicky Henderson, whose last win in this race was back in 2000 with Bacchanal. Lucky Place is hoping to be the one to end the drought for Seven Barrows in the Stayers' Hurdle.

Nico de Boinville will be on board, and he and Henderson have combined well over the years, including a win in the Arkle on Tuesday with Jango Baie. This will be Lucky Place's first outing over a staying trip and it looks like the weather conditions could play to his strengths. One to watch.

The Wallpark @ 13/2

Elliott's The Wallpark was a winner at Cheltenham in the October meeting by two-and-a-half lengths, and that familiarity with the track might help his cause. Owned by JP McManus, a serial winner at the Festival, that alone is enough to earn plenty of interest from punters.

The steady early pace counted against him on his last outing at Ascot in December but stayed well to finish fourth. A strong early gallop here could throw him into contention. Another one to monitor closely.

Langer Dan @ 11/1

Dan Skelton-trained Langer Dan remains an enigma. Form may escape him at other meetings but he can suddenly spring to life at the Festival. He claimed a second successive Coral Cup Handicap Chase at Prestbury Park last year, and he wasn't the favourite on that occasion either.

Bob Olinger @ 16/1

It would be special to see Bob Olinger land a third Festival win for Henry de Bromhead, and there would be some roar at Prestbury Park if he were to do so. The 10-year-old has posted respectable second-place finishes behind Home By The Lee on his two starts this season.

Rachael Blackmore was the rider last time out at Leopardstown and the pair will reunite on Thursday. Blackmore and De Bromhead has been a winning formula on several occasions in recent years, and this one would be one of the more special ones if they can do it.

Certainly one to consider for an each-way punt.
