Britannia Stakes 2025 Tips: Arabian Story can finish well

The Britannia Stakes is undoubtedly one of the toughest Royal Ascot handicaps to solve with 29 runners battling it out over the straight mile.

It can often help to have a tough and constant horse in the big-field charge of the Britannia and TEROOMM looks an ideal candidate. 

Roger Varian’s charge has scored at Bath, Thirsk and Haydock this season, and while that has seen a rise in the weights, Teroomm has perhaps been winning with a little bit up his sleeve. 

The three-year-old is up six pounds for his most recent success in Haydock’s Silver Bowl, but that was an impressive victory, in a competitive race, and the son of Iffraaj showed an excellent attitude on his way to the winners’ enclosure.

Teroomm looked a clear contender for the Britannia, following his Silver Bowl success and there has been little since to suggest Varian’s charge won’t run another big race at Ascot.

ARABIAN STORY has had only three runs in his career and it’s difficult to know how high the Godolphin-owned runner can go in the Britannia. 

However, what we do know is that Saeed bin Suroor’s runner was an impressive winner of a mile maiden at Chelmsford last time out and that effort suggests there is a horse better than a mark of 97 lurking. 

Arabian Story quickened away from his Essex rivals in impressive fashion 28 days ago and Bin Suroor’s charge had previously made a nice debut in Meydan. 

The son of Group 1 sprinter Invincible Spirit is well-bred, with his dam producing Olympic Candle, who looked a useful prospect when winning a maiden at Ascot and novice contest at Kempton. 

Bin Suroor looks to have done a good job of protecting the handicap mark and Arabian Story can score for a trainer who has enjoyed plenty of success at Royal Ascot.
