The stage is set for a scorching day on the south coast on Tuesday afternoon.

The seaside action gets underway at 14:20 and I've got three Brighton tips for consideration.

Brighton Tips - Tuesday, April 29

  • 14:20 - Marsh Benham @ 17/2
  • 15:30 - Bohemian Breeze @ 5/1
  • 17:15 - Hellavapace each-way @ 12/1

14:20 - Marsh Benham @ 17/2

The action gets underway with a low-grade 0-75 apprentice handicap over seven furlongs and the prize could go to MARSH BENHAM and Jack Callan.

Callan takes seven pounds off the course regular, who is at home on the undulations at the south coast track.

George Baker’s charge is a four-time Brighton winner, with the latest of those victories coming off a mark of 68 in October.

Callan’s seven-pound claim means the six-year-old is effectively running off a rating of 62 on Tuesday afternoon and that looks a workable number.

Marsh Benham was tailed off at Brighton last month, but that run came after a 162-day break and better is expected this time around.

15:30 - Bohemian Breeze @ 5/1

BOHEMIAN BREEZE makes the switch from jumping to run in the one-and-a-half-mile 0-65 handicap at 15:30 and Gary & Josh Moore’s charge can strike.

The five-year-old is having his first flat turf start for the Moore stable, and only his fifth start for the stable all told, and there could be more to come this afternoon.

The gelding was sent off 5-2 and 6-4 for a pair of better grade handicaps at Lingfield and Kempton last year, suggesting there was something in hand off the mark, and the latest hurdles run at Plumpton wasn’t devoid of promise.

Bohemian Breeze drops into 0-65 company for the first time since joining the Moore yard last October and he could blow away his rivals in what is a pretty poor field.

17:15 - Hellavapace each-way @ 12/1

HELLAVAPACE’S record at Brighton reads 8,5,1,3,2,3,2,7 and Jonathan Portman’s charge is clearly at home on the south coast.

The seven-year-old has dropped to a mark of 51 for this contest and the burden is reduced further with jockey Olivia Tubb claiming five pounds.

Hellavapace finished down the field at Brighton last month, but that was the seven-year-old’s first run back following a break and the mare may well have needed that run at this stage of her career.

Portman’s charge gets the mile trip well, and with a strong pace likely, Hellavapace could stay on best to score.

This is an Extra Place Race, with 4 places available instead of 3 at 1/5 the odds for all each-way bets.

17:15 Brighton - Each-way (1/5 - 4 places) Hellavapace
