Bath Tips: Love can lay down the law

There’s a six-race card from Bath on Wednesday evening with firm ground the order of the day. Six runners go to post in the feature race at 20:20, and Love Is The Law looks capable of building on a good run at Lingfield last time out.

19:20 Arlecchino's Gift @ 25/1
Arlecchino's Gift disappointed at Brighton last time out, but he didn’t appear to be in love with the south coast track, and better is expected in the Class 6 handicap over five furlongs at 19:20.
Mark Usher’s charge is down to a rating of 6,1, and it was only last September that the six-year-old won impressively off a rating of 62 at Wolverhampton.
Prior to the poor effort at Brighton, Arlecchino's Gift ran a good third at Wolverhampton in March and won at Kempton in February.
He is certainly not just an all-weather performer, with Usher’s charge having also won three times on turf.
There appears to be plenty of upside to Arlecchino's Gift at a big price.

19:50 Offiah's Boy @ 5/6
Offiah's Boy made the most of a drop in grade to classified company to make all and win well at Lingfield seven days ago, and the four-year-old can follow up in the basement contest at 19:50.
Joe Tickle’s runner didn’t get an easy lead on the grass at Lingfield, but the gelding kept his rivals at bay, and he is a potent threat in classified races.
Fast ground appears to suit the son of Le Brivido well, and he appears a little better than 0-50 company.
Either way, Offiah's Boy is in the same grade as the impressive Lingfield success, and a bunch of out-of-form rivals are unlikely to stop Tickle’s charge from following up seven days later.

20:20 Love Is The Law @ 11/4
Love Is The Law ran well to finish third at Lingfield last month, and that good effort can be upgraded.
George Scott’s charge had to challenge from the back of the field and down the middle of the track that day, which is certainly not ideal on Lingfield’s turf course, but the three-year-old wasn’t beaten far at the Surrey venue.
Love Is The Law was sent off at a 7/2 chance last time out, suggesting connections believe there is a victory on the way, and off a mark of 74, that appears achievable at Bath.
The three-year-old broke her maiden on good-to-firm ground, so there are no issues with fast conditions, and the filly can take the mile handicap at 20:20.
