The DP World Tour gets Jamie's First Round Leader treatment this week over the PGA Tour as he likes the look at the options better at the Danish Golf Championship.

Our resident golf tipster has four names at odds between 80/1 and 150/1 that he thinks could bring home a big-priced each-way winner after the opening day in Copenhagen. You can read who he likes and why below as he takes us through his Danish Golf Championship FRL Tips...

The Danish Golf Championship begins at Furesø Golfklub on Thursday, and with breezier conditions expected later in the day, the round-one advantage may well lie with the morning starters.

It's forecast to be warm and relatively bright throughout the opening round. The day starts with a gentle 4-6mph breeze, but this will rise to around 11mph once the afternoon wave tees off, accompanied by gusts approaching 20mph.

With that in mind, I'm going to concentrate solely on the AM tee times to try and unlock this week's first-round leader market.

Andreas Halvorsen

Start time: 09:20

Andreas Halvorsen has developed a habit of starting quickly in recent weeks, finishing the first round in 2nd place in two of his last five starts. As an accurate ball-striking type who excels on the greens – ranking 26th with the putter this season – he's an ideal candidate to take the lead in round one.

The Norwegian was playing great golf earlier in the year, missing just one of his first eight cuts and recording finishes of 2nd in the Kolkata Challenge on the HotelPlanner Tour, and 6th in the Indian Open on the DP World Tour.

He missed his next four cuts following that early-season run but has bounced back, making each of his last three at this level. His 19th-place finish in the Italian Open was aided by a strong start, opening with a five-under 65 to end day one in 2nd, and he occupied the same spot after the first round last week thanks to a four-under 68.

Spending much of the beginning of his pro career in South America, Halvorsen's European form is a little thin on the ground. However, he won the Danish Golf Challenge on the HotelPlanner Tour last year – an event in which he tied the first-round lead with a 66 – and in fine round-one form at present, he can get off to a similarly positive start this week.

Tom Lewis

Start time: 08:40

Tom Lewis has amassed some encouraging results on the HotelPlanner Tour in the last couple of months, including a runner-up finish in Germany three starts ago. He's sat inside the top five after round one in two of his last three and possessing strong form in this event, he should be relishing a return to Denmark.

Lewis took a little time to get going in 2025, missing four of his first six cuts and failing to record a top-50 finish. He's turned it around in recent weeks, securing four top-12s in his last eight starts, including that distant 2nd-place finish to J.C. Ritchie in the German Challenge.

The Englishman made six birdies and zero bogeys in the first round on his way to a six-under 66 there – enough to finish day one in 3rd place. He again started brightly the following week, firing another six-under-par round to close round one of the Scottish Challenge in 5th position.

Lewis has played in this event seven times, missing just one cut and recording three top-20s. The vibes should be good coming here and considering those recent first-round displays, he looks a lively contender to rise to the top on Thursday.

David Horsey

Start time: 08:20

David Horsey claimed his first title in 10 years at the end of June, winning the Le Vaudreuil Golf Challenge on the HotelPlanner Tour. He's a former winner and runner-up of this week's event and having delivered some eye-catching first-round displays in the last couple of months, this accurate ball-striker makes plenty of appeal.

Horsey's form was solid at the start of this season, but he took it to new heights with that victory in France. He's played well enough since, finishing 54th back at this level in the BMW International Open, and he was 21st two weeks ago in the Scottish Challenge.

More encouragingly in relation to this market, he's produced a glut of great first-round showings. Chief among them are his eight-under 63 on day one of the Swiss Challenge – enough to top the leaderboard – whilst in Scotland he opened with a five-under 66 to sit 8th after 18 holes.

Horsey also shot an eight-under 63 to lead after the first round in Denmark in 2015 – a tournament he then went on to win. He was close to winning the tournament for a second time in 2017, finishing 2nd, and as a straight hitter who is still capable of catching fire on the greens, he has a great profile for this challenge.

Matthew Baldwin

Start time: 07:50

I'm going to complete a trio of Englishmen with Matthew Baldwin. He left a series of poor performances behind to finish 19th in the Nexo Championship and with his tee-to-green game looking strong there, he is worth a punt to carry the momentum into this week's first round at a huge price.

He entered last week having missed seven of his previous eight cuts, with a 27th-place finish in the Austrian Alpine Open the only bright spot. He arrested the slide at Trump International, finishing 19th and it was particularly encouraging to see him rank 8th from tee-to-green.

Baldwin also started well in Scotland, opening with a three-under 69 to sit 5th after the first round. No stranger to a strong first-round display in Denmark, having begun with a six-under 66 in 2018 to finish day one in 2nd place, he can rely on that positive experience to take the first-round lead at Furesø Golfklub on Thursday.
