Zurich vs Winterthur Prediction: No ECL hangover for hosts on Sunday

Zurich and Winterthur were two of six teams to make a winning start to the 2024/25 Swiss Super League season last week. The pair will aim to extend their 100% records when they meet at Zurich's Letzigrund Stadion on Sunday (15:30).

Zurich vs Winterthur Betting Tips
Team News
Juan Perea and Ume Emmanuel were Zurich's scorers in their 2-0 victory at Yverdon last weekend, and Emmanuel's strike from the bench was enough to see him paired in attack with Perea for the side's 3-0 win against Shelbourne on Thursday.
Emmanuel was one of two changes made to the starting XI for that Europa Conference League second-round qualifier first leg with Silvan Wallner also given the nod.
Mounir Chouiar dropped to the bench for Emmanuel, while Wallner was handed his opportunity after the injury sustained against Yverdon by Nemanja Tosic, who remains sidelined for this weekend's fixture.
Winterthur don't appear to have any new injury worries and could be tempted to name an unchanged starting XI following their 1-0 success against St Gallen last Saturday.
Matteo Di Giusto was the hero at Stadio Schutzenwiese as his 70th-minute strike proved to be the winner, and the 23-year-old is set to line up behind frontman Aldin Turkes again.

The hosts are 8/15 favourites to triumph again on Sunday, giving them an implied win probability of 65.2%, while Winterthur are 4/1, or a 20% chance.
The draw can be backed at 3/1, both teams to score at 4/6 and over 2.5 goals at 4/7.
Zurich to win & both teams to score @ 15/8
Zurich have kept two clean sheets in as many games this term, denying Yverdon and Shelbourne many opportunities, and will be hoping a third one on Sunday can set themselves up for another win.
Certainly, they should be confident of claiming all three points having finished 11 points ahead of Winterthur last season, beating them 3-2 in their first head-to-head at Letzigrund Stadion in October before playing out a goalless draw with them at the same venue just under six months later - though Winterthur did win a Swiss Cup quarter-final there 2-0 on February 28.
Scoring four times across three games last season at Sunday's venue should give the visitors the belief that they can trouble Zurich's goal again this weekend, as should the fact that they struck 60 times in the 2023/24 Swiss Super League - only champions Young Boys (76) and runners-up Lugano (67) scored more.
The Rot-Weiss will also hope to capitalise on the short turnaround between Sunday and Zurich's Europa Conference League qualifiers, each taking place within days of their second league fixture.
However, the fact that Zurich brushed Shelbourne aside 3-0 in the first leg should mean that they can name a strong side on Sunday, and take all three points.
Zurich to score in both halves @ 6/5
It took Zurich until the 72nd minute to find the breakthrough in their opening-round win against Yverdon, but that was an away fixture, and Sunday's contest takes place at home where they opened the scoring inside the first minute against Shelbourne on Thursday.
Zurich scored a second in the 29th minute and made it three in the 58th minute; they'll be looking to emulate the achievement of scoring in both halves on Sunday against an opponent they beat 3-1 in their last head-to-head on May 12, when Zurich also scored twice in the first half and added one more in the second 45 minutes.
