Both Teams to Score
Both teams have scored in 10 of the 12 meetings between these sides since Wolves' promotion from the EFL Championship in 2018, and those two goalless games for the Old Gold came in defeats at St James' Park.
Newcastle kept a clean sheet in their opening-weekend victory over Southampton but have conceded in Premier League games against Bournemouth (1-1) and Tottenham Hotspur (2-1) either side of a Carabao Cup draw at Nottingham Forest (1-1), where they triumphed on penalties.
So, that's three games in a row with both teams scoring in Newcastle games, and Wolves' last two contests in the league have also seen both teams score. After losing 2-0 at Arsenal, Gary O'Neil's side were thrashed 6-2 at home by Chelsea before playing out a more modest 1-1 draw at Forest before the international break.
Neither Wolves nor Newcastle are particularly strong in defence, with the former shipping 65 goals in last season's Premier League, three more than the Magpies, and we can probably expect more entertainment on Sunday with the attacks winning out.
Each Team Over 19.5 Booking Points
As well as goals, head-to-heads between Wolves and Newcastle at Molineux usually provide their fair share of bookings. There were five yellows dished out in the corresponding fixture last season, four to Newcastle and one to Wolves, and cards have followed both this term.
They've each received eight yellows in the league so far, level with eight other sides at the top of the disciplinary table, and there are plenty of feisty players on both teams, which I will get into a bit further down.
This selection has landed in all three of Wolves' league matches so far, and the same goes for Newcastle.
Remember, with Betfred, yellow amounts to 10 booking points, with straight reds coming to 25, so we just need two yellows on either side for this to win on Sunday.
Rayan Ait-Nouri 2+ Fouls
The first of two players likely to come high in the foul count at Molineux is Wolves' left wing-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, who is averaging two fouls per game in the league this season.
The Algeria international made two fouls against each of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Forest, and could be penalised another couple of times on Sunday up against a couple of tricky wingers in Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes.
Gordon can play either side but with Barnes more likely to feature from the left, the England international could start from the right again, as he did against Spurs, and that would put him in direct contact with Ait-Nouri, heightening the Wolves man's chances of committing fouls. Gordon has been fouled an average of 3.3 times per game in this season's Premier League and was fouled three times for his country by the Republic of Ireland last week, and once by Finland on Tuesday.
The Newcastle winger could draw a couple of free-kicks from Ait-Nouri, who was booked in both games against the Magpies last season, committing two fouls on Tyneside in March.
Joelinton 2+ Fouls
The fourth and final selection involves an old foul favourite, Joelinton. The bustling Brazilian is a powerful presence in midfield, but his aggressiveness can often spill over into concession of free-kicks, which makes him an attractive option in the fouls market.
He averaged two fouls per game in the 2022/23 Premier League campaign, dropping down to 1.4 last season, but he's up to three so far this term, making four, one, and five respectively against Southampton, Bournemouth, and Spurs.
The 28-year-old only made one foul in this fixture last season, but I think he will go one 'better' this time around.
