Wolves vs Everton Prediction: More Moyes mastery?

The Premier League returns this weekend for the final round of fixtures before the first international break of the season. Wolves got off the mark in the Carabao Cup in midweek with a 3-2 win over West Ham, but they are still searching for their first point of the Premier League campaign.
They host Everton (15:00), who celebrated the opening of their new stadium with a 2-0 win over Brighton last weekend. Below you can find my Wolves vs Everton predictions with team news and betting tips.

Team News
Jorgen Strand Larsen remains the subject of major interest from Newcastle United but for now he remains at Wolves and willing to play. Meanwhile, Fabio Silva has departed for Borussia Dortmund, while Toti Gomes is suspended after his red card against Bournemouth.
Santiago Bueno or Yerson Mosquera will battle it out for that spot in the back three, alongside Matt Doherty and Emmanuel Agbadou. Manager Vitor Pereira will want to stop his side leaking goals so Andre could come back into the midfield alongside Joao Gomes or Marshall Munetsi.
Strand Larsen scored two in the cup in midweek and will lead the line barring any transfer noise, with Jhon Arias and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde likely to provide the width. Hwang Hee-Chan is pushing for minutes off the bench while Rodrigo Gomes also found the net against West Ham in midweek.
Wolves vs Everton Stats
- Wolves are yet to score in the Premier League this season
- Everton's two games have both seen under 2.5 goals
For Everton, we can expect David Moyes to name the same XI as the one that beat Brighton 2-0 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium’s first-ever Premier League match. Jack Grealish starred on the left wing with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Iliman Ndiaye supporting Thierno Barry.
Beto will hope to get back into the XI up top, while the midfield duo of Tim Iroegbunam and Idrissa Gueye has been working well and should remain untouched. James Garner scored a wonderful goal and has done well at left-back, and Dwight McNeil offers quality off the bench. James Tarkowski, Michael Keane and Jordan Pickford make up a solid unit at the back.
Wolves are priced at 6/4 to win this game on home soil, while Everton are available at 7/4. That gives the home side an implied win probability of 40% while a draw can be backed at 21/10.
Over 2.5 goals is 6/5, BTTS is 5/6 and Nathan Fraser and Strand Larsen are the favorites to open the scoring at 11/2.
Under 2.5 goals @ 8/13
Wolves have lost two Premier League games out of two, while they have also failed to score in both fixtures. I like Strand Larsen a lot, but his head could be elsewhere as the transfer window timer ticks down, and Wolves haven’t been able to create much even with him in the team.
They had an xG of just 0.46 against Bournemouth, and 0.56 against Man City, while both of Everton’s games so far have seen under 2.5 goals. With the amount of rotation in the Carabao, I’m going to intentionally ignore those midweek fixtures, and I believe we will get another low-scoring affair on Saturday.
Everton showed glimpses against Brighton but that was a special occasion, while in their first away game they were relatively toothless in the 1-0 defeat to Leeds United. I think it’s unlikely that both teams combine to score three or more at Molineux.

Scorecast - Ndiaye to score, Everton to win 1-0 @ 50/1
I think Everton will shade a very tight game at Molineux and as I’ve already stated, I don’t think there will be many goals in this one. I’m going to back Everton to get the 1-0 win based on what we saw from them last week. Grealish looks like a fantastic addition and I just trust Moyes to be able to get the job done in this away fixture.
Out of all the likely goalscorers in blue, I’m going to back Ndiaye to find the net. He scored the first goal at the new stadium against Brighton, and while Barry is still finding his feet and Grealish is providing the ammunition from the left, I believe he is the most likely Everton player to score. Combining these two selections takes us to 50/1.
