Chelsea are looking for their first points of the season when they travel to Molineux Stadium to face Wolves on Sunday (14:00).

This looks set to be an intriguing game between two teams who have different aspirations this term. Read on for my Wolves vs Chelsea predictions.

Wolves vs Chelsea Predictions

  • Double Chance - Wolves or Draw @ 21/20
  • Matehus Cunha to score anytime @ 9/4

Wolves vs Chelsea Odds

Chelsea can be backed at 8/11 for the victory, while Wolves are 10/3 outsiders and the draw is available at 3/1.

Over 2.5 goals is on offer at 4/7, while both teams to score is priced at 4/7 and it is 11/8 for over 1.5 goals in the first half.

Team News

Reece James is set to miss out for Chelsea, while star man Cole Palmer is also a minor doubt with a thigh injury. Joao Felix could make his debut.

Nelson Semedo is suspended for Wolves, while Leon Chiwome, Sasa Kalajdzic and Enso Gonzalez are long-term absentees.

Double Chance - Wolves or Draw @ 21/20

Wolves beat Chelsea home and away last season and they are unbeaten in their previous four meetings with the Blues at Molineux.

For context, Frank Lampard was the Chelsea manager for their last win at Molineux in 2019, showing the difficulty they've had with getting a victory from this ground.

New manager Enzo Maresca is already under pressure after his side's summer spending spree, with a huge number of players stockpiled on long-term contracts.

They were comfortably beaten 2-0 by Manchester City last weekend and while there is no shame in that result they would have preferred to be more fluent than they were in their 2-0 win over Servette on Thursday.

Any squad can take a long time to gel after a busy summer and considering the sheer number of players Chelsea have brought in, along with a new manager, it may be some time before they have a settled starting lineup.

Wolves may have lost Pedro Neto and Max Kilman, but Rodrigo Gomes and Jorgen Strand Larsen were eye-catching additions, and Gary O'Neil has a habit of making the team more than the sum of its parts.

Matehus Cunha to score anytime @ 9/4

Matheus Cunha was Wolves' joint-top scorer with 12 goals from 29 Premier League starts last season. He has been eased back into this campaign after suffering with injuries, featuring for 34 minutes against Arsenal.

Likely to start and also the home team's penalty taker, he may be the value selection to find the net.
