Team News
Potter is expected to make changes to his side after a poor display at the Stadium of Light last week.
Callum Wilson could be handed a full debut after coming off the bench last time out while Tomas Soucek or Edson Alvarez are both in contention to start.
Crysencio Summerville remains sidelined for the Hammers, but Kyle Walker-Peters will be hoping to feature for Potter's side for the first time here.
West Ham vs Chelsea Stats
- Chelsea have won the last three meetings with West Ham
- West Ham were beaten 3-0 by newly-promoted Sunderland last week
As for Chelsea, they will continue to be without Levi Colwill at the back, while Benoit Badiashile, Tosin Adarabioyo and Wesley Fofana are also sidelined for the trip to the London Stadium.
Nicolas Jackson will return from a three-match suspension which carried over from last season, but Romeo Lavia will be absent with a minor muscle issue.
West Ham are 18/5, the draw is 11/4 and Chelsea are 4/6, giving them an implied win probability of 60%.
Cole Palmer is the favourite to score anytime at 13/10, followed by Joao Pedro at 7/5 - the former Brighton & Hove Albion forward has scored a career-best six goals against the Hammers.
Match Result - Chelsea @ 4/6
The Blues looked sluggish in their opener against Crystal Palace, which is understandable given their Fifa Club World Cup commitments over the summer, but they should be able to dominate a poor West Ham outfit who were thoroughly outplayed in their opening fixture against Sunderland.
Chelsea were left to rue late missed chances against Palace, and their expected goals (xG) output of 1.81 suggests that they should have scored at least once last weekend.
Meanwhile, Potter's men looked completely out-of-sorts against the Black Cats. The Hammers' defence was breached on numerous occasions and if a newly-promoted side can carve through West Ham with that amount of ease, then you can only imagine what attacking talents of Chelsea will do.
West Ham look toothless in front of goal, and we can only see one winner at the London Stadium on Friday night.

Cole Palmer to score anytime @ 13/10
Palmer's form dipped towards the end of last season but the England international was brilliant at the Club World Cup over the summer.
However, last weekend's performance looked reminiscent of the Palmer from the back end of last season, who struggled for rhythm and saw the goals dry up.
Form is temporary, class is permanent as they say, and we're expecting Palmer to lead his side to victory here. The 23-year-old has recorded a goal or assist each time he's played against the Irons for Chelsea.
Given the current state of West Ham's defence, we're backing Palmer to score anytime here at 13/10.
