West Ham United welcome Bournemouth to the London Stadium on Wednesday (19:45, Sky Sports+), looking to build on their win at Crystal Palace at the weekend.

The Cherries were held to a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United on their last outing, but gave a very good account of themselves and were unfortunate to be denied a winner by VAR. Read on for my West Ham vs Bournemouth prediction, featuring team news and match odds.

Team News

West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui could hand starts to new signings Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville, two players the supporters would like to get a closer look at. First starts may also be handed to Jean-Clair Todibo and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as the Hammers look to flaunt their newfound squad depth.

Evanilson came close to opening his Bournemouth account in the draw with Newcastle United at the weekend, and the Brazilian is likely to lead the line for Andoni Iraola's side once again.

Dango Ouatarra, Alex Scott and Luis Sinistera could be named in the starting XI, having made cameos from the bench at the weekend. Enes Unal, David Brooks and Tyler Roberts remain out injured.

West Ham and both teams to score @ 13/5

The Hammers picked up an impressive away win at Crystal Palace at the weekend, who were one of the form sides in the Premier League towards the end of last season. It was an excellent response to their home defeat to Aston Villa on the opening weekend.

Now they have a chance to record their first win of the campaign at the London Stadium, and I fancy them to do just that against the Cherries. Both teams are expected to rotate for this cup tie but this will be where we see the strength in depth that West Ham have.

To potentially hand first starts to the likes of Fullkrug and Summerville in the third game of the season, highlights the options Lopetegui has at his disposal. I expect both these players to have key roles in this match if they play from the get-go, and they should help fire the Hammers into the third round.

I do see goals at both ends in this one because the Cherries themselves do possess a lot of quality in attack and it wouldn't surprise me to see Evanilson get off the mark for his new side.

Niclas Fullkrug anytime goalscorer @ 8/5

I have mentioned him a few times already in this preview so you can probably tell that I am a fan of Fullkrug. The striker has the profile that West Ham need - someone who can do a bit of everything.

His arrival was seen as one of the best transfers in the Premier League over the summer, and it feels like it is only a matter of time until he announces himself in England. I think he can do that on Wednesday in this cup clash.

The Germany international will be pushing for his first start in claret and blue and he will be eager to deliver in front of the home crowd, as the Hammers look to build on the weekend's triumph at Selhurst Park.

If Summerville starts alongside him in attack, he shouldn't be short of chances, and with his abilities, I am confident he can put at least one away.
