West Ham vs Freiburg Prediction: Can the Hammers bounce back?
West Ham United entertain SC Freiburg at the London Stadium in the Europa League on Thursday night (20:00). The Hammers will be looking for an improved performance after their heavy 5-0 defeat at Fulham on Sunday.
Both these teams have already secured their places in the knockout stage of the competition but this result will determine who tops the group. Here are some of the best markets on offer to punters.
West Ham vs Freiburg Betting Tips
Match Odds
West Ham are the favourites to win this game at 8/11. A draw is on offer at 3/1, while Freiburg are 16/5 to avenge their home defeat against the Hammers from earlier in the season.
Both teams to score in this encounter is valued at 8/13. You will find the same price for over 2.5 goals.
Team News
After the hosts were said to be plagued with a stomach bug which impacted their performance against Fulham, it is difficult to predict who may or may not be available on Thursday.
Alphonse Areola and Michail Antonio remain West Ham's two biggest injury doubts.
Freiburg have no fresh injury concerns heading into this one and could see an unchanged side from the one that defeated Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga over the weekend.
Draw or Freiburg (Double chance) @ 21/20
Given the sickness bug that has been sweeping the West Ham dressing room over the last few days, Freiburg will be fancying their chances to get a result in the English capital.
They may have been beaten on home soil earlier in the campaign, but against a healthy Hammers squad, they still managed to get on the scoresheet. Squad information will be kept under wraps by David Moyes ahead of this clash but there is still a chance that some of his players will not be fit enough to feature.
Even if some players do return, they will still be feeling a bit deflated over the events of the past week and this will give the German side an excellent opportunity to potentially progress as group winners.
Mohammed Kudus to score anytime @ 15/8
Mohammed Kudus started in the 5-0 defeat at Craven Cottage over the weekend and could be in line to start again in Europe against Freiburg this Thursday. He will be fired up to help his side make amends for their poor performance in west London and put smiles back on the home crowd's faces by sending them through to the last-16 as Group A winners.
Kudus has already found the back of the net twice in the Europa League this season but he wasn't on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture against Freiburg back in October. The Ghanaian has also scored on three occasions in the Premier League so he will have a degree of confidence in his play.
At 15/8, we think there is great value in backing him to get on the scoresheet in this one.
