After being knocked out of the FA Cup by Bristol City, West Ham enjoyed a weekend off ahead of a busy February fixture list.

The Hammers’ next test comes on Thursday night (19:30) as they host a Bournemouth side who made light work of Swansea City, hammering the Welsh outfit 5-0 to progress to the fifth round. Below we’ve taken a look at this fixture and picked out a couple of betting selections.

West Ham vs Bournemouth Tips

  • Bournemouth to win and BTTS @ 10/3
  • Dominic Solanke to score anytime @ 11/8

Team News

Vladimir Coufal and Said Benrahma are both suspended for this one, and the Algerian international may have played his last game for the club, as Lyon try and force through a late deal in the January transfer window. Nayef Aguerd and Mohammed Kudus remain at the AFCON, while Edson Alvarez is likely to make his return from injury.

For Bournemouth, Dango Outtara is on international duty, Max Aarons is out injured and youngster James Hill went off with an ankle issue in the FA Cup win. Adam Smith and Tyler Adams are also both out of contention for this game.

Match Odds

West Ham are 7/5 to win this match on home soil, with Bournemouth priced at 7/4. A draw can be backed at 13/5, over 2.5 goals is 8/13 and BTTS is 8/15.

Bournemouth to win and BTTS @ 10/3

This is a tough one to call, but I believe an entertaining encounter could well be on the cards at the London Stadium. Bournemouth have seriously impressed me over the past two months and their rise up the table has been admirable. Since bonfire night, they have only been beaten by Liverpool and Tottenham, climbing to 12th in the league.

The FA Cup win was important as it got them back on track and now Andoni Iraola’s men can target another win in the league after two tough defeats. West Ham meanwhile are yet to win in 2024, having thrown away all three points in the dying embers at Bramall Lane. They’ll need to get three points to cling onto their top six place, but I just feel as though this game will be full of goals, and the Cherries can come out on top.

Dominic Solanke to score anytime @ 11/8

Given we think Bournemouth can come out with three points and score at least twice, it makes perfect sense to back Solanke to score at least one of those. He’s been simply sensational so far this season, scored against Swansea in that 5-0 win and is now pushing for a place in England's Euro 2024 squad. Mo Salah and Erling Haaland are now both just two goals ahead of the Englishman in the race for the Golden Boot, and having notched 12 already so far this term, Solanke will have his eyes firmly on that 20-goal target.

His pace and power earn him plenty of goalscoring opportunites, while his teammates have now worked out how to get the very best out of him. He’s also their designated penalty taker, and should be able to get on the scoresheet against a West Ham side lacking confidence.
