The Championship is back in action this weekend and there are some exciting fixtures that could have huge repercussions at both ends of the table. There are some huge games in store this weekend. From the full selection coming our way in the second tier, we lay down our predictions and what we feel could be the best bets on offer.

Weekend Championship Betting Tips

  • Kieffer Moore to score anytime in Cardiff City vs Ipswich Town @ 13/8
  • Sammie Szmodics to score anytime in Blackburn Rovers vs Ipswich Town @ 11/8
  • Over 2.5 Norwich goals in Norwich City vs Rotherham United @ 5/4
  • Southampton to win to nil in Southampton vs Sunderland @ 6/4

Kieffer Moore to score anytime in Cardiff City vs Ipswich Town @ 13/8

How many times have we seen a former player come back to haunt his old side? Far too many to count, but we are expecting to see another one happen this weekend. Former Cardiff striker Kieffer Moore has been tearing it up with promotion-chasing Ipswich Road since returning to the Tractor Boys in January.

The towering forward has five goals in eight Championship appearances so far, playing a dependable understudy for Kieran McKenna's men following George Hirst's injury. Ipswich have a habit of scoring goals this year and their total of 73 is the best in the division.

They continually deliver on the scoresheet and we expect them to do so this weekend, and we fancy Moore to continue his own impressive run.

Sammie Szmodics to score anytime in Blackburn Rovers vs Ipswich Town @ 11/8

Blackburn may be right in the thick of a relegation battle, but they boast the Championship's top scorer in Sammie Szmodics. The Irish international has scored 20 already this year, becoming the first player in the Football League to reach that figure.

No matter how Blackburn are playing, Szmodics always finds a way to get himself on the scoresheet. He has two goals in as many appearances, and will be heading to this weekend's crunch clash against Plymouth full of confidence.

Over 2.5 Norwich goals in Norwich City vs Rotherham United @ 5/4

Norwich may have suffered a surprising defeat at Middlesbrough in midweek but we are expecting them to bounce back immediately against bottom-of-the-table Rotherham United.

The Millers are 20 points adrift of safety and continually ship goals. Coventry City fired five past them in midweek, and Norwich have the quality to rack up a similar number against them too.

The Canaries posted back-to-back four-goal showings against Cardiff and Watford last month, and we fancy them to deliver another high-scoring performance on Saturday.

Over 2.5 Norwich goals at 5/4

Southampton to win to nil in Southampton vs Sunderland @ 6/4

After losing star player Jack Clarke to injury for a lengthy period of time, Sunderland's play-off hopes look to have been shattered. They have lost five games on the spin and next up is another tough fixture against promotion-chasing Southampton.

A fire near St Mary's postponed the hosts' meeting with Preston North End in the week, so Russell Martin's players will be well-rested compared to the Black Cats, who lost to Leicester on Tuesday.

We're expecting a comfortable win for the hosts, who will be looking to build on last week's late win over Birmingham, and the forwards could rack up a few goals between them here.

Southampton to win to nil at 6/4
