With the Championship starting to edge closer to the business end of the campaign, teams will once again be jostling for position this weekend.

There are some compelling games taking place at the top end of the standings, with West Brom’s trip to Hull City one of the picks of the weekend.

Having looked over all the fixtures we have laid out what we feel are the three best selections from the second tier.

Weekend Championship Betting Tips - 24/25 February

  • West Brom to beat Hull City @ 2/1
  • Birmingham City double chance v Ipswich Town @ 6/4
  • Southampton to beat Millwall to nil @ 23/20

West Brom to beat Hull City @ 2/1

Starting at MKM Stadium, there’s an intriguing clash on the cards as Hull City host West Brom.

It looks like Leicester, Leeds, Ipswich and Southampton will make up the top four in the Championship this season, meaning a handful of clubs will have to battle for the play-off spots available for finishing fifth and sixth.

Hull and West Brom can be counted in that number, making Saturday’s encounter all the more exciting.

The Baggies have won seven of their last eight games with Hull, including an impressive 3-1 win over the Tigers at The Hawthorns earlier this season.

Hull are in solid form, but West Brom clearly have an excellent record against the Yorkshire outfit, who have lost three of their last five Championship games at home.

West Brom to beat Hull City at 2-1

Birmingham City double chance v Ipswich Town @ 6/4

After a run of three consecutive defeats in all competitions, Birmingham City have started to find some of their early season form ahead of Saturday’s trip to Ipswich Town.

Getting back to winning ways with a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers, the Blues backed that up with an impressive 2-1 win over promotion chasers Sunderland last time out.

Ipswich are on a three-match winning run but were far from convincing in their wins over strugglers Swansea and Rotherham in their last two games.

With Southampton and Leeds piling on the pressure in the battle for second spot, Ipswich are hanging in there and improving Birmingham might fancy their chances of getting something from their trip to Portman Road.

Birmingham-Double Chance at 6-4

Southampton to beat Millwall to nil @ 23/20

Southampton suffered a setback to their hopes of claiming second spot with a 2-1 defeat at home to Hull in midweek, but they can bounce back at the first time of asking against Millwall on Saturday.

The Lions are in a terrible run of form at present without a win in their last seven Championship games.

Losing all of their last four outings and scoring just one goal in that time, the Londoners are unlikely to trouble their hosts, who should win while keeping the Lions off the scoresheet at St Mary’s.

Southampton to win to nil at 23-20
