There’s an intriguing battle to look forward to in the Europa Conference League on Thursday, as last season’s runners-up Fiorentina take on a Viktoria Plzen side who are currently unbeaten in the competition this term.

It’s the quarter-final first leg at Doosan Arena this week and both teams will be eager to secure an advantage ahead of the return leg at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on April 18. Below is our Viktoria Plzen vs Fiorentina prediction, along with match odds and team news.

Viktoria Plzen vs Fiorentina Prediction

  • Fiorentina to win and both teams to score @ 3/1
  • Antonin Barak to score anytime @ 3/1

Team News

Starting with the hosts, Jan Sykora and Jhon Mosquera are both doubts for Thursday's game, as the pair continue to recover from knee and head injuries respectively.

Unfortunately, this game will come too soon for the likes of Erik Jirka (groin), Rafiu Durosinmi and Matej Valenta (both knee), who remain in the treatment room.

As for Fiorentina, manager Vincenzo Italiano has no new injury concerns ahead of the trip to the Czech Republic after Dodo recently returned from a serious knee injury.

Match Odds

Viktoria Plzen the underdogs at 11/4 to win on home soil, while Fiorentina are available at EVS to head back to Florence with a lead ahead of the second leg.

The draw on Thursday night is currently 12/5, while over 2.5 total goals in the game is available at EVS.

Fiorentina to win and both teams to score @ 3/1

Having just fallen short against West Ham last season, Fiorentina are on a mission to get back to the Europa Conference League final this term.

After losing their opening game at Rapid Vienna, La Viola have responded well to go unbeaten in their following nine games in the competition this season.

Progressing past Maccabi Haifa in the last-16, Fiorentina now have Viktoria Plzen in their sights. Losing to Slovan Liberec and drawing at Karvina in their last two league games, this looks to be a good time to face Plzen.

Fiorentina have conceded in all of their last four Europa Conference League games and Plzen might well get on the scoresheet.

However, the Tuscan outfit have the quality and experience in their ranks to edge this first leg before a return meeting in Florence.

Antonin Barak to score anytime @ 3/1

Scoring in both of Fiorentina’s last two Conference League games, Antonin Barak is certainly a player to look out for in the anytime goalscorer market.

The Czech Republic international heads back to his homeland this week and the former Slavia Prague attacking midfielder would like nothing more than to add to his tally of three goals in Europe this season.

Barak finds himself in good form and, at 3/1, the 29-year-old looks well priced to get on the scoresheet once again.
