Viktor Gyokeres is arguably the hottest property available on the transfer market this summer, having scored a ridiculous 97 goals in 102 games since joining Sporting CP from Championship club Coventry City. As a fan of said Championship club, I eagerly await Gyokeres’ next move, and the sell-on fee that will come the Sky Blues’ way.

Let’s have a look at the Viktor Gyokeres Transfer Odds, and discuss the positives and negatives of each potential move.

Arsenal @ 8/11

Like a confused participant on Blind Date, Arsenal seem to be struggling to pick between number one and number two. One is a Slovenian 22-year-old named Benjamin, who is currently scoring goals in Germany - and he is going up against our 27-year-old chiseled Swedish goalscorer.

With the Gunners in desperate need of a striker, as they have been for two or three seasons now, they are surely going to indulge in at least one of these two. If Mikel Arteta gets greedy, perhaps a menage a trois could even be on the cards.

Gyokeres has made his stance clear and Arsenal seem to fit the bill for his next club, given they are title contenders in the Premier League and playing Champions League football next term. He could give Arsenal fans a ‘lorra lorra laughs’ if he moves to the Emirates this summer.

Football Odds

Manchester United @ 7/4

Manchester United are also in the running to sign the wantaway Sporting striker, with his former boss Ruben Amorim now the head coach at Old Trafford. There’s a lot of reasons to get behind this deal from a United perspective. Gyokeres knows Amorim and his 3-4-3 system, has scored a ridiculous amount of goals and has the experience to take the pressure off the likes of Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund.

The transfer fee looks to be the sticking point at the moment for any club trying to sign the former Coventry striker. The player wants Sporting to accept €60m plus €10m in add-ons, while the club want the total to reach €80m. United paid that for Antony, so they probably will reach that figure, but they aren’t in Europe next term and don’t look like challenging for the Premier League title either. They’ve got the money, and they are Manchester United, so they could tempt Gyokeres if the Arsenal offer doesn’t materialise.

Atletico Madrid @ 8/1

Atletico Madrid currently have Alexander Sorloth, Antoine Griezmann and Julian Alvarez as their attacking options so they are well-stocked in that area - but Gyokeres is Gyokeres. Diego Simeone would be able to get the best out of the physical monster and he could compliment the likes of Griezmann quite nicely.

However, it’s another big fee for Atleti to pay out and I’m not sure they will do that. The prospect of living in Madrid is a nice one, and competing with Barcelona and Real Madrid for the big honours is also an easy sell, but a move to the Premier League looks more likely at this moment in time.

Today's Football Fixtures

Liverpool @ 10/1

Premier League champions Liverpool got the rough end of the deal when they last signed a striker from Portugal, and Darwin Nunez has failed to deliver at Anfield. However, if they can get the Uruguayan out of the club this summer, amid interest from Napoli and Saudi Arabia, there will be a need to bring a number nine to the club.

Mo Salah is their main goalscorer and Gyokeres could upset the balance of that front three, but with Florian Wirtz feeding him, it could be a match made in heaven. Having lost Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool are spending big this summer, but could they stretch to Gyokeres? It feels like a stretch too far unless Nunez goes.

Juventus @ 16/1

With Kenan Yildiz and Dusan Vlahovic at the club, and Randal Kolo Muani a potential option after a successful loan spell, Juve are probably worthy of this 16/1 price. They are the outsiders to sign Gyokeres, but if Yildiz makes a move away from Italy and Kolo Muani remains at PSG, there could be funds available for a big signing. Not likely right now, but not completely out of the question either.
