Tottenham vs Man City

Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester City in the Premier League on Tuesday night (Sky Sports Main Event, 20:00) as the visitors look to secure their first league victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. In four meetings thus far, Pep Guardiola's side have failed to win, but they did win there in the FA Cup back in January which may provide them with a psychological boost.

Spurs have often been a thorn in City's side and this match could play a huge role in the outcome of the title race and Arsenal will be hoping their bitter rivals can do them a favour. Below I have outlined my Tottenham vs Man City predictions, accompanied by team news and match odds.

Tottenham vs Man City Betting Tips

  • Man City to win 3-1 @ 9/1
  • Phil Foden anytime goalscorer @ 5/4

Tottenham vs Man City Odds

Spurs are 6/1 to win this battle, giving them an implied probability of just 14.3%. Man City are valued at 4/11, which gives them a 73.3% chance. The draw can be backed at 9/2 (18.2%).

Both teams have scored in 15 of Tottenham's 17 league matches on home soil this term and it is priced at 4/9 to land on Tuesday. Over 2.5 goals is on offer at 2/7, with Spurs' last 13 home games seeing at least three goals.

Man City's Erling Haaland leads the race for the Golden Boot this season with 25 goals so far and he is marketed at 9/4 to score first in north London. Tottenham's Son Heung-min has netted 17 himself and he is 11/5 to score anytime.

Team News

Spurs are likely going to miss Brazilian forward Richarlison for their last two games of the season after he missed out at the weekend with a calf issue. Timo Werner, Ben Davies, Ryan Sessegnon, Manor Solomon, Destiny Udogie and Fraser Forster are the other players in the medical bay for the hosts.

After going off in the win at Fulham on Saturday, Man City defender Nathan Ake is a doubt to feature here. Jack Grealish missed that game through illness but he could be in contention for a return to the squad for this clash.

Man City to win 3-1 @ 9/1

Seeing as there is no value to be had in backing Man City to win, I have found value in trying to correctly predict the scoreline. I do believe that the Citizens will be able to secure their first Premier League win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in midweek, and I do think that they can win it relatively comfortably.

Guardiola's men are in their end-of-season title charge mode, which usually means that this is when they are at their most unplayable, as evidenced by their current winning streak of seven matches.

Yes, Spurs have been able to cause them problems in the league in recent years, and their stadium has not been a happy hunting ground, but Man City at this time of year makes those factors fly out the window.

I fancy the visitors to win this game 3-1 because with a record-breaking fourth consecutive title on the horizon, I cannot see them letting up at this late stage. I expect Haaland, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne to play starring roles here and three goals should be straightforward for City to muster with those three on the pitch.

This is supported by the fact that the hosts have conceded 14 goals in their last five matches too.

However, I do see Spurs getting on the scoresheet themselves because they have good attacking players of their own, most notably Son, who has five goals in 15 league appearances against the Citizens.

Man City to win 3-1 at 9/1 Phil Foden anytime goalscorer @ 5/4

Foden has been in magnificent form for Man City this year and the England international has provided 17 goals and eight assists for the reigning champions in the top-flight.

I think he offers great value to get on the scoresheet on Tuesday night as in most cases this season he has been the player to take control of things on the pitch for City, and in a game of this magnitude, I reckon he will do it again.

He heads into this fixture in good goalscoring form, having netted three in as many appearances, and he also found the back of the net in the 3-3 draw with Spurs at the Etihad Stadium back in December.

Phil Foden anytime goalscorer at 5/4 Betfred are running their famed Double Delight & Hat-trick Heaven offer on this match, meaning that if a player scores first and then nets again, you will be paid at double the odds. If he grabs a hat-trick, you will be paid at treble the odds!
