In the early hours of Thursday morning there's an all-Premier League clash taking place between Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers in a friendly. The Eagles will looking forward to the new season under Oliver Glasner, who turned them into one of the form teams at the back end of last season.
Another friendly sees Real Madrid lock horns with AC Milan, with Los Blancos gearing up for what they hope will be another magical campaign, having won both La Liga and the Champions League last term.
There is also Leagues Cup action taking place at a similar time, with Apple TV providing coverage for several fixtures. LA Galaxy begin their campaign with a trip to San Jose Earthquakes, with the two sides at opposite ends of the MLS Western Conference.
LA Galaxy lead the way at this stage of the season, while San Jose are rock bottom in 14th with just 14 points to their name. The visitors are expected to win this one fairly comfortably.
As we move across to Europe, Cercle Brugge host Kilmarnock in the second leg of their Europa League second round qualifier, with both teams level after their draw in the reverse fixture last week. It was a tight contest in Scotland and Kilmarnock gave a good account of themselves, but they are going to need another strong performance in Belgium to get themselves through to the next round.
Over in the Europa Conference League, League of Ireland Premier Division side Shelbourne have a mountain to climb, as they entertain FC Zurich at Tolka Park. The hosts are 3-0 down heading into this clash, so the Swiss side already have a foot firmly in the next round.
Up in Scotland, St Mirren go head-to-head with Valur, having come away from Icleand last week with a goalless draw. They will fancy their chances on home soil to get the job done but it will still take a huge performance to do so, but manager Stephen Robinson has said that they are ready to embrace the pressure.
