Today’s Live Football on TV: England and Scotland in action
With the mainstream European leagues coming to an end, and Real Madrid crowned champions of the continent for the 15th time this weekend, now all attention turns to international football. Euro 2024 kicks off in less than two weeks and the nations involved have a couple of warm-up games left to try and work out their best starting XIs.
England, Scotland and Germany are all in action on Monday, June 3 and below you can take a look at today’s live football on TV.

England (1/7) vs Bosnia-Herzegovina (16/1) - Draw (7/1) - (Channel 4, 19:45)
Let’s start with the earliest kick-off time today, and turn our attention to Scotland. Steve Clarke’s side are playing in the opening game of Euro 2024 next Friday night, as they face hosts Germany. However, today they travel to Portugal to take on European minnows Gibraltar, in what should be a confidence-boosting game for the attacking players.
Clarke suffered a blow in training this week as powerful number nine Lyndon Dykes suffered an injury, and this game is likely to see several fringe players being given a chance to prove themselves. After an impressive qualification campaign, Scotland are on a dismal run of seven games without a win, while their hosts lost 14-0 to France, and 6-0 to the Netherlands recently.
The odds suggest this is a mismatch and I can’t see anything other than a comfortable away win, but Scotland will hope that a few of their fringe players can impress as they struggle to shake off some injury doubts.
World Cup finalists from 2018, Croatia are also in action on Premier Sports today as they host North Macedonia. Zlatko Dalic has been in charge since 2017 and will be hoping for another impressive tournament display this summer, although his side have been placed in a group with Spain and defending champions Italy.
This is an ageing squad, with 38-year-old Luka Modric still captaining the side, but with Man City duo Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovaicic likely to star this summer, they are always in with a chance. They face North Macedonia tonight, who failed to qualify for Euro 2024 after making it to a major tournament for the first time in 2020.
Then we come to the host nation Germany. Expectations have risen over the last six months for Julian Nagelsmann after impressive victories over France and the Netherlands, and there is now a real belief that they could do something special on home soil this summer. They’ve got another tough test tonight in the form of Ukraine, who qualified for the tournament and are in a winnable group with Belgium, Romania and Slovakia. That one is live on Premier Sports 1 following the Scotland game.
Let’s finish with England who also kick-off at 19:45, but on Channel 4. The Three Lions face Bosnia-Herzegovina at St James’ Park, before taking on Iceland at Wembley on Friday night. Newcastle full-back Kieran Trippier will captain the side today and there are going to be plenty of changes made as John Stones, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon have all been ruled out of this one.
It means Marc Guehi is likely to start, while Cole Palmer should deputise for Saka on the right wing. Both players look likely to make the final 26, but a solid showing here should guarantee their place on the plane. With lingering injuries to several members of the squad, it still feels like there are places up for grabs in Gareth Southgate’s team.
