Swansea vs Leeds Prediction: Visitors to prevail amongst the goals

Leeds United are among the frontrunners in the race for promotion from the Championship this season and they will be looking to enhance their prospects with a win away to Swansea City on Tuesday. 

The Swans are down in 16th spot in the standings but dug deep to win their first match under manager Luke Williams last time out, winning 1-0 away to Hull City. 

Here is a look at how the match could unfold at the Swansea.com Stadium. 

Team News 

Kyle Naughton was forced off injured against Hull, leaving Swansea light on options at the back, with Harrison Ashby and Josh Key already sidelined. 

Pascal Struijk remains out for visitors Leeds and Ethan Ampadu could therefore drop into defence to partner Joe Rodon once again.

Swansea are as long as 9/2 to take all three points on Tuesday evening, with a Leeds victory priced at 8/15 and the draw available at 3/1.

Swansea boss Williams will have breathed a sigh of relief after his side beat Hull 1-0 last time out and he can reflect on what was a strong performance from the Welsh club. 

However, that narrow victory was preceded by a winless run featuring matches against Birmingham, Southampton, Leicester and Plymouth. 

And Swansea cannot afford to be complacent with only seven points separating them from the drop zone in the Championship. 

They have had a mixed bag of results with nine wins, nine draws and 13 defeats in the league this term, but could be out of their depth against Leeds, who are in hot pursuit of automatic promotion. 

Leeds have enjoyed a run of six straight wins in the Championship this season and have also progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup. 

They drew 1-1 with Plymouth in the cup initially, but cruised to a 4-1 win in the replay and they should rack up the goals again. 

They have scored at least three times in five of their nine matches in 2024 and with that in mind, a bet on a Leeds win and over 2.5 goals could be the way to go. 

That has clicked in each of the club's last two matches as well as in the reverse fixture at Elland Road back in November.

Sticking with the theme of a high-scoring game, a bet on Leeds to win this 3-0 could offer value. 

Leeds have shown on more than one occasion this season that they know where the goal is and they have won by a 3-0 margin against Birmingham, Peterborough, Cardiff and Rotherham already in 2024. 

The reverse fixture finished 3-1 to Leeds, with Swansea's goal an anomaly in the first minute and United should feel confident in shutting out the hosts. 

Leeds have conceded only 26 goals in 31 matches in the second tier this season and no club has bettered their tally of 13 clean sheets in the league this term.
