Stoke vs Bristol City Prediction: Two in-form sides collide

Stoke City entertain Bristol City at the bet365 Stadium on Tuesday (19:45, Sky Sports+), looking to extend their unbeaten run to four matches. They picked up a 1-1 draw at home to Norwich City at the weekend.
The Robins have gone five games unbeaten themselves, and they have picked up two wins along the way. Below you will find my Stoke vs Bristol City prediction, featuring match odds and team news.
Stoke are 11/8, or a 42.1% chance, to take the three points on Tuesday. Bristol City are valued at 2/1 to win this encounter, giving them an implied probability of 33.3%. The draw can be backed at 23/10.
Both teams to score is available at 8/11 and over 2.5 goals is on offer at 10/11.
Stoke's Tom Cannon has scored four goals in the Championship this term, and he is 6/1 to open the scoring, or 11/5 to score anytime on Tuesday.
His teammate Million Manhoef has two for himself, and you can back him at 3/1 to find the back of the net at any stage during this contest.
Bristol City's Fally Mayulu has scored twice this season in the second tier, and he is 11/4 to score anytime in this clash.
Team News
Stoke boss Narcis Pelach is having to cope without trio Lynden Gooch, Ben Pearson and Bosun Lawal due to injury, and they are expected to be out until November.
After being forced off in the first-half at the weekend, midfielder Wouter Burger has emerged as a doubt for this clash, and Jordan Thompson is likely to replace him in the team if he is absent.
Pelach isn't expected to make any unforced changes with his side going three games unbeaten.
For the Robins they are without the services of Ayman Benarous, Rob Dickie, Cameron Pring, Robert Atkinson and Samuel Bell due to various injuries.
Following their win at Middlesbrough at the weekend, Chris Hogg could go with a similar side that lined up on Teesside.
Draw @ 23/10
This should be a fascinating contest because both of these teams are on unbeaten runs and have been improving over the past few weeks. Stoke boss Pelach is still getting his ideas across to his players but we are starting to see results on the pitch.
They managed to take a point from an in-form Norwich side last time out and another against Swansea in the match before that. And then there was their prolific 6-1 victory over Portsmouth.
The Potters are starting to find some consistency in their play and they are proving to be a tough nut to crack on home soil.
After beating Boro away, Bristol City will fancy themselves to pick up another impressive win to keep their own good form going, so you can see why I think this could be an entertaining affair.
The Robins gave a commanding performance to win their first match since manager Liam Manning took some time away following the tragic passing of his son. His players will want to continue making him proud in his absence, and they will be gunning for back-to-back victories for the first time this season.
Stoke have been strong defensively since Pelach took the reins over from Steven Schumacher, conceding just three goals in five league matches. So this is a tough match for both teams, and as such I think this game is a tough one to call.
I think I'm going to have to sit on the fence for this one and back a draw at the bet365 Stadium.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Both teams to score @ 8/11
With that in mind, I don't it would be a dull draw by any means. As I've mentioned throughout this preview, both these sides are in good form and I expect we will see this in their performances on Tuesday.
Both teams to score has been a winning selection in three of Stoke's 10 matches in the Championship this term, and all three have come when playing at home. For Bristol City, they have seen goals at both ends in six of their 10 league appearances, with two coming on the road.
Given the unbeaten runs that both are on, both sets of players will be full of confidence, and I think this will translate onto the pitch when they meet in the Potteries. They both have players who have scored more than once this season, with Stoke's forward Cannon is the most likely to score in this meeting.
The Robins don't have a player who has scored more frequently than him, but they have the likes of Nahki Wells and Tommy Conway who can have an impact in the final third. As such, I think we will see another BTTS encounter at the bet365 Stadium.
