St Mirren vs Hibs Prediction: Mandron to boost Buddies’ European hopes

Hibernian will book their ticket to next season's Uefa Europa League qualification stage on Wednesday (19:45) if they beat St Mirren at The SMiSA Stadium and Aberdeen fail to get all three points against champions Celtic on the same night. Their hosts, however, still have their eyes on a fourth-placed finish that would earn the Paisley club entry to the Uefa Conference League qualifiers.
Below are my St Mirren vs Hibs predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
St Mirren appear to be at full strength on Wednesday, with head coach Stephen Robinson able to name an unchanged starting XI, something he may consider after his side eased to a 2-0 win at Dundee United on Saturday.
Mikael Mandron has scored in St Mirren's last two games, and the Frenchman looks set to lead the line again in midweek.
Scott Tanser, Alex Iacovitti and Greg Kiltie all came off the bench at Tannadice on the weekend, with all three players hoping to earn more minutes here.
St Mirren vs Hibs Stats
- St Mirren are unbeaten in their last four home games, won three of last four H2Hs
- Hibs have lost two of their last three matches
- Mikael Mandron (STM) has struck in his last two appearances
Hibs are missing a couple of midfielders, former Saints loanee Kwon Hyeok-kyu (ankle) and Joe Newell (pelvis), due to injury.
The visitors have their own in-form forward heading into this contest, though, with Martin Boyle also scoring in his last two appearances, and the Australia international is set to be paired in attack again with Mykola Kukharevych.
St Mirren are unbeaten in their last four home games and have won three of their last four meetings with Hibs. The Buddies are, however, considered underdogs on Wednesday, priced at 21/10 for the win, implying a 32.3% probability of success, while the visitors are 7/5, or a 41.7% chance, to collect all three points on their travels.
The draw is offered at 23/10, both teams to score at 8/11, and over 2.5 total goals at 1/1.
Draw No Bet - St Mirren @ 1/1
Hibs are eight points ahead of their next opponents and have enjoyed a sensational run of results in the league since mid-December, going 17 games unbeaten before losing two of their last three, although they were away to fourth-placed Aberdeen (1-0) and runaway winners Celtic (3-1).
However, they have a rotten recent record against St Mirren, failing to win any of their last six meetings, which includes the previous three this season, the first two of which saw the Saints claim all three points (3-0 at home, 2-1 away). Hibs managed to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat, and third this season, when holding Robinson's side to a goalless draw in Paisley, but yet again, a victory evaded them in this fixture.
The Saints should arrive into Wednesday's game full of confidence, having lost just one of their last seven, and none of their last four, three of which they have won.
Robinson will be targeting a third consecutive victory after presiding over wins against Aberdeen (1-0) and Dundee United (0-2) earlier this month, and three points is what they need to stay in the race for Europe, while they will also be hoping Celtic do them a favour against the Dons.
St Mirren have been particularly strong at home recently, remaining unbeaten in Paisley since March 1, winning three and drawing one of their last four matches at the SMiSA Stadium.
I wouldn't put you off backing the hosts to win on Wednesday at 2/1, but I'm choosing to be a bit more cautious and back the Saints in the 'Draw No Bet' market at reduced odds of 1/1, which means that if Robinson's charges only manage to draw, stakes will be returned. That seems a more sensible selection to me, as Hibs have been so strong since the end of last year, and their only two defeats in recent times have been against two of the division's four best clubs.

Anytime Goalscorer - Mikael Mandron (STM) @ 5/2
Losing leading goalscorer Toyosi Olusanya, who struck eight times in 31 Premiership appearances this season before leaving for MLS club Houston Dynamo last month, was a big blow for the Buddies, but the recent form of Mandron has softened it somewhat.
The 30-year-old only scored five times in his first 30 league outings in 2024/25, but he's now found the net in his last two games to move up to seven for the season, just one behind his 2023/24 tally of eight.
Mandron will now be looking to make it three in a row on Wednesday, and given Hibs have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last three matches, he'll be confident he can do so.
Given his form, his club's recent positive results, and the fact that the Buddies are playing at home against a side they've beaten twice already this season, I think we're getting decent odds for the Frenchman to score at any time against Hibs.
