Tottenham Hotspur could be without James Maddison for the visit of Liverpool, following the midfielder picking up a knock in last week’s draw with rivals Arsenal – his absence will be a great loss for Ange Postecoglou. Ivan Perisic is Spurs’ major long-term absentee and he is likely to miss the rest of the season.

Brennan Johnson also picked up a knock against Arsenal and it remains to be seen if he will be fit for Liverpool. Giovani Lo Celso is out with a thigh injury and he won’t be back for around another month. Ryan Sessegnon, Rodrigo Bentancur and Bryan Gil are still quite a while away from returning to action.

Liverpool look set to be without defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, as he continues to recover from a hamstring problem. Thiago is the other doubt for Jurgen Klopp ahead of the weekend, as the Spaniard looks to return to match fitness.

Both these teams have had excellent starts to the season and are yet to lose. Postecoglou’s exciting brand of football has been embraced by Tottenham fans, who now have a team they can be proud of and enjoy watching. Klopp’s Liverpool have made a much better start than they did a year ago and players like Darwin Nunez look settled in now, to play a huge part in the Reds’ season.

On paper this match is set up to be one of the best in the calendar, especially with the way both sides like to attack. There is a lot of quality in both their ranks and everyone is hoping this will lead to an excellent battle on the pitch.

It is difficult to separate the teams right now because of the quality they possess and also the fact that neither of them have been beaten so far. It will be a real signal of intent from either side if they can beat the other in this one. However, there is very little to separate them right now and their attacking talents could be set to cancel each other out.

We are expecting to see the goals fly in on Saturday but we feel like the outcome is destined for a stalemate – which would still be an excellent result for both sides.

Harry Kane seemingly left a huge void at Spurs following his summer exit but right now, Son Heung-min is filling it brilliantly. The South Korean was named captain by Postecoglou in the summer and after a few games, the Australian decided to play the attacker through the middle and it is yielding great results.

Son is the second top goalscorer in the league with five goals to his name already. He scored a stunning hat-trick against Burnley earlier in the month and then netted a brace against Arsenal last time out. The 31-year-old is in great form heading into Saturday’s meeting with Liverpool, and he will look to continue his rich vein of form by continuing to deliver the goods for his side.
