Tottenham Hotspur welcome Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon (14:00) and will look to end a run of two straight defeats after a personnel crisis before the international break saw their unbeaten start evaporate.

We've picked out a couple of the best markets on offer for this top-flight contest.

Spurs vs Aston Villa Betting Tips

  • Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to be shown a card - 15/8
  • Ollie Watkins to score anytime - 13/10

Match Odds

Spurs are 13/10 to get back to winning ways this weekend. You will find a draw marketed at 11/4, while Aston Villa are 13/8 to make things worse for Ange Postecoglou's side.

Both teams to score in this one is 2/5. Over 2.5 goals can be backed at 4/9.

Team News

Spurs are missing key players James Maddison and Micky van de Ven through injury, with the duo ruled out until the new year. Yves Bissouma and Cristian Romero are unavailable due to suspension. Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, Alfie Whiteman, Ashley Phillips and Manor Solomon are also in the treatment room. Pape Sarr is a doubt for the weekend.

Villa are without Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendia for the trip to the capital.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to be shown a card @ 15/8

Due to injuries and suspensions, Postecoglou will be unable to put out his strongest XI against Villa on Sunday. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is likely to start again after featuring in the defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out.

The Danish midfielder has found opportunities difficult since Postecoglou came in, and while he will enjoy getting more minutes on the pitch, he will not be part of Spurs's strongest lineup as they face difficult opposition. With three yellow cards already this season, we can see the Dane picking up his fourth booking in the Premier League this weekend.

Ollie Watkins to score anytime @ 13/10

Spurs are really feeling the effect of missing Van de Ven, who has been instrumental in his side's defensive organisation this season. With him out of the picture and Romero suspended, Spurs have had to put out a temporary back line, and one that isn't very secure.

This will likely happen again this weekend, which will be to the delight of Villa forward Ollie Watkins. The England international has been transformed under the stewardship of Unai Emery and he is having an excellent season individually, along with his club.

Watkins has six goals in the league so far and he will be heading to north London in great spirits. Coming up against a dysfunctional defence will suit him and we are expecting him to get on the scoresheet this Sunday.
