Hibs vs Rangers Prediction: Back Rohl to make it two wins from two in SPL

The pick of an exciting five-match programme from the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday comes from Easter Road. The locals are on a great run of form, but two wins from two for Danny Rohl would see Rangers leapfrog Hibs.

Match Preview:
Hibs enjoy home advantage on matchday ten in the Scottish Premiership. David Gray’s team line up on the back of a confidence-boosting run, winning two and drawing three of their previous six starts.
Back-to-back wins over Livingston and Aberdeen moved the Hibees to within three points of a Celtic side that has lost their last two. Fancy Hibs to land a treble and bolster their chances of joining neighbours Hearts in the top two?
Rangers got off to a winning start in the Premiership under new manager Danny Rohl. The German got a feel for the size of the task in Govan when watching his team suffer a 3-0 Europa League defeat at Brann.
The Gers did perform better at the weekend when collecting their first Premiership home win of the season, courtesy of a 3-1 over Killie. Rangers have plenty of problems, but travel from Glasgow to Edinburgh unbeaten in four league games.
Hibs vs Rangers Predicted Lineups
- Hibs: Sallinger, Kiranga, Hanley, Iredale, C. Cadden, Mulligan, Barlaser, N. Cadden, McGrath, Bowie, Klidje
- Rangers: Butland, Tavernier, Souttar, Cornelius, Gassama, Raskin, Diomande, Aasgaard, Meghoma, Danilo, Miovski
Match Odds:
Hibs fans will pack Easter Road, determined to cheer their favourites to a famous victory under the bright lights. Everyone connected to the home dressing room would dearly love to burst the Gers bubble, bringing their opponents and new coaching staff back down to earth with a bump.
The hosts have collected two points more than their rivals and scored five more goals, but carry a slightly worse goals-against tally. The home win is 15/8 at Betfred.
Rangers looked more organised in defence, focused in the middle of the park, and clinical in attack. Rohl has already shown he’s not afraid to make changes, and started with two strikers in that weekend win over Kilmarnock.
The frontline responded, with Danilo and Youssef Chermiti adding to an opening goal from defender Derek Cornelius. They’re far from the finished article, but Gers appear to be back on the right track.
Fancy Rangers to leave Edinburgh with the points? The away win is 11/8, with the draw trading at 13/5.

Hibs vs Rangers Stats
- Rangers (33%) are low for Over 2.5 Goals but the new manager is two-for-two for this statistic since taking charge (0-3 and 3-1).
- The visitors however are top-drawer for BTTS at 78% - no team in the SPL is better. Hibs are not far behind at 67%.
Over 2.5 Goals
Our first bet in the Scottish capital is for Hibs vs Rangers to produce more than two goals combined. It doesn’t matter which team wins or who scores. As long as the fixture ends with three or more goals, you’ll secure a return.
You can add this selection to your midweek multiples, hoping the game lives up to expectations. To increase confidence in our pick, over 2.5 goals would’ve earned you a return when the Gers were last in town.
Hibs and Rangers fought out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Easter Road back in May. Interestingly, they shared a six-goal draw when Hibs hosted in January.
The previous two meetings here have an aggregate score of Hibs 5-5 Rangers, and I expect Wednesday’s renewal to follow suit. Aberdeen vs Hibs ended with three goals at the weekend, and Rangers vs Kilmarnock produced four. This bet allows you to cheer every attack and goal.

Rangers Win
We’re sticking our neck on the line and picking sides in our second bet on Wednesday, backing Rangers to leave with the points. It’s a gamble, considering what we’ve seen from the light blues so far this season.
Russell Martin failed to win a league match at Ibrox before his dismissal. German coach Rohl managed that in his first attempt. The team looked back on track. The players were hungry, the attitude better than it’s been for a while, and Rangers got the home win they were craving.
We’ll need a rub of the green to get this gamble home and hosed as a winner, but the odds make it a risk worth taking. Hibs have beaten Rangers only once in their previous 15 meetings, a run that goes back to December 2021.
That trend is just too strong to ignore, and I’m picking Rangers in the match winner market. We’ll need to see a season-best performance from the boys in blue.
Hopefully, the ‘new manager bounce’ plays a part and Rohl can get his men firing again. A win at Easter Road would be a massive result.
