Team News
David Gray saw his Hibs side secure an impressive 0-0 draw with Rangers last time out, and so he may want to select the same XI for this one, with one exception. Miguel Chaiwa went off injured after just 10 minutes and is unlikely to recover for this one, with Coventry City loanee Kai Andrews impressing in his debut from the bench. The teenager should earn his first start here.
Gray has got a fair few injuries to deal with including Chris Cadden and Josh Campbell, so expect Jordan Obita and Kanayochukwu Megwa to continue in the wing-back positions. Martin Boyle and Thody Elie Youan failed to score against Rangers but are likely to continue as the front two, supported by Andrews in this 3-4-1-2 system.
Dundee United are in a bit of a pickle as Amar Fatah and Panutche Camara were both sent off in the defeat to Hearts. That means Zac Sapsford could start in place of Fatah in the final third, alongside Nikolaj Moller and Kristijan Trapanovski - although the latter was sacrificed at half-time vs Hearts.
Given Camara was sent off having come off the bench, Craig Sibbald and Luca Stephenson should continue their partnership in midfield.
Hibs vs Dundee United Predicted Lineups
- Hibernian - Sallinger; Kiranga, Hanley, Iredale; Megwa, Newell, Barlaser, Obita; Andrews; Boyle, Youan
- Dundee United - Brewer; Cleall-Harding, Graham, Keresztes; Strain, Stephenson, Sibbald, Ferry; Sapsford, Moller, Trapanovski
Hibs are priced at 3/5 to win this game, giving them an implied win probability of 63%. A draw is 3/1 and an away win can be backed at 11/2.
Over 2.5 goals is 4/5, BTTS is the same price and Ellie Youan is the favourite to score first at 10/3.
Hibs vs Dundee United Stats
- Hibs have only lost two home games this term
- Dundee United have lost three of their last four without scoring
- Kai Andrews is yet to score a senior goal
Hibs to win with a -1 handicap @ 7/4
I think we can be confident in backing the home side in this game, despite their lack of recent wins. I was impressed with their display against high-flying Rangers and their home form this season has been excellent - as they have won five, drawn five and lost just two of their 12 Scottish Premiership matches at Easter Road.
Dundee United have lost three of their last four without scoring and they’ve only won two away games on the road this term. This should be a confidence-boosting home win for Hibs, who will be desperate to secure their place in the top six.

Kai Andrews to score anytime @ 11/2
I think this will be a fairly one-sided game, so I’m keen to back a Hibs goalscorer, and I think I’ve spotted some fantastic value in this market. Andrews joined the club last week on loan from Championship leaders Coventry, and the 19-year-old has a big future ahead of him.
He has already been called up to the Wales squad by Craig Bellamy and has featured off the bench in seven Championship games, but this loan should see him secure more minutes. The injury to Chaiwa at the weekend guarantees him a start in this one, and given a free role in midfield, he should be able to cause some damage.
He’s not yet scored a senior goal, but that is why we are getting such great value on him to do so. He should pick up some great areas during the 90, so let’s back him to find that first goal.
