Dunfermline vs Falkirk Prediction: A flurry of goals expected at Hampden

Dunfermline Athletic are hoping to reach their first Scottish Cup final since 2007 when they face Falkirk at Hampden Park on Saturday (12:30 BST, BBC iPlayer). Dunfermline cruised their way past Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen to book their place in the last four of this competition, so they will look to take down another top-flight outfit in Falkirk.
Below you will find my Dunfermline vs Falkirk predictions, alongside the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Dunfermline are set to be without the services of their top scorer Andrew Tod, who has netted 16 goals in all competitions this season. The attacker picked up a knee injury against Ayr United and has been missing for the Pars' past two outings. This would be a huge blow for Neil Lennon's side.
Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen is facing a race against time to overcome a groin issue to play a part in defence on Saturday. Charlie Gilmour is another who is set to miss out.
Louie Marsh and Ross MacIver (both thigh) are Falkirk's biggest injury concerns ahead of this semi-final.
Barney Stewart, Ben Broggio and Calvin Miller have all been in scoring form over the past three games, and they have the quality to fire the Bairns into the final.
Dunfermline vs Falkirk Predicted Lineups
- Dunfermline: Terrell; Kearney, Abdulai. Davidson; J. Tod, Oakley-Boothe, Bray, Cooper, McLeod; Turley, Fyfe
- Falkirk: Bain; Adams, Lissah, Henderson, McCann; Tait, Spencer; Broggio, Stewart, Yeats; Miller
Dunfermline are a 16/5 bet to win this semi-final in regulation time, and they have won six of their past nine outings in all competitions.
Their latest fixture was a draw against Airdrieonians, and the stalemate here can be backed at 3/1.
Falkirk are the 4/6 favourites to prevail inside 90 minutes, and they have won three of the last four meetings.
The Bairns' Stewart has opened the scoring in two of Falkirk's previous three games and he is 5/2 to score first on Saturday.
Dunfermline vs Falkirk Stats
- 3 of Falkirk's last 8 matches have gone Over 3.5 Goals, including their previous two
- At least 4 goals have been scored in 3 of Dunfermline's past 5 outings
- Both teams have scored in each of the Bairns' 6 most recent fixtures
Total Goals - Over 3.5 @ 2/1
Both these teams have showed over the season that they are capable of scoring goals. I think they can treat us to a spectacle in Glasgow on Saturday so I am drawn in by the 2/1 (implied probability of 33.3%) price for Over 3.5 Goals.
This has been a winning selection in three of Dunfermline's previous five games heading into this semi-final, including their latest contest against Airdrieonians.
Falkirk have seen this bet strike in three of their last eight matches, including their two most recent clashes against Motherwell and Rangers. A total of 14 goals were scored across those two fixtures, so I think we are capable of seeing at least four scored in this Scottish Cup tie.

Both Teams To Score - Yes @ 4/5
Given how well these sides have fared to get to this point in the competition, as well as their own league campaigns, I think a more safer selection to back is Both Teams To Score - Yes.
This selection has landed in each of Falkirk's past six games leading into this weekend, so I am confident that we will see this trend continue on Saturday. This bet has also struck in three of Dunfermline's last five outings, as well as two of their three most recent head-to-heads with the Bairns.
