Team News
Former Coventry and Fleetwood manager Pressley has a strong squad to choose from on Wednesday, with only Billy Koumetio and Joe Westley out of action. January addition Brad Halliday made his debut last time out at right-back and should play again after arriving from Bradford.
Captain Simon Murray and Tony Yogane should provide attacking thrust, while Joe Bevan may come into the final third to try and provide a bigger goal threat.
Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou will likely name the same XI as the one that beat Livingston, thanks to two goals from striker Tawanda Maswanhise. Therefore, January signing Eythor Bjorgolfsson may have to settle for a spot on the bench.
Paul McGinn should feature in the back four, while Elijah Just will play in the number 10 role.
Dundee vs Motherwell Predicted Lineups
- Dundee - McCracken; Halliday, Astley, Graham, Samuels; Congreve, Dhanda, Hamilton, Bevan, Yogane; Murray
- Motherwell - Ward; Sparrow, O'Donnell, McGinn, Longelo; Priestman, Fadinger; Said, Just, Slattery; Maswanhise
Dundee are priced at 3/1 to win this game, giving them an implied win probability of just 25% for this home clash. Motherwell are the 9/10 favourites, while a draw is 5/2 and over 2.5 goals is 10/11.
BTTS is 4/5 and Apostolos Stamatelopoulos is the favourite to open the scoring at 7/2.
Dundee vs Motherwell Stats
- Dundee have failed to score in their last three league games
- Motherwell have won five of their last six in all competitions
- Tawanda Maswanhise has scored 13 league goals this term and leads the Golden Boot race
Motherwell to win to nil @ 2/1
A basic selection to kick us off, but I think it makes sense to back the away side to come away with all three points. Dundee haven’t won in their last three league games, losing two and drawing one. Concerningly, they haven’t scored in any of those outings, even failing to break down 10-man St Mirren last time out, and that poor form has dropped them down to ninth in the table.
Meanwhile, Motherwell have won five of their last six in all competitions, and they’ve won their last three games on the bounce without conceding. These stats make good reading for our first selection, which is backing the away side to win to nil, as they have done with great success recently.

Tawanda Maswanhise to score first @ 4/1
Tawanda Maswanhise has been in sensational form across the whole season, but he’s stepped it up a level in 2026. He’s now scored 18 goals in 29 games in all competitions this term, is the leading goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership with 13, and has now scored six goals in his last five league matches.
He’s definitely the man to back for a goal, and although I like the 7/5 anytime price, I’ll go a step further in what should be a low-scoring affair. With Dundee unlikely to pose much of a threat, 4/1 on Maswanhise to find the net first looks to be cracking value.
