Celtic vs Dundee Prediction: Hoops hope to move to the summit

Celtic will have their eyes on top spot in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday (19:45 GMT) when they welcome Dundee to Celtic Park. The Hoops have won four league games in a row and a victory here could move them up to first, one point ahead of Hearts, if the league leaders were to lose to Kilmarnock.
Below you will find my Celtic vs Dundee predictions, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Alistair Johnston, Callum Osmand (both hamstring), Cameron Carter-Vickers (Achilles) and Jota (knee) remain out of action for Celtic due to various injuries. Kelechi Iheanacho will need to be assessed ahead of the game as he has missed the last six matches with a hamstring issue of his own.
Boss Martin O'Neill is unlikely to tinker with the team that won 2-1 at Hibernian last time out, so we could see the same XI start at Parkhead on Wednesday.
Dundee make the trip to Glasgow without any injury concerns, which will be considered a boost for boss Steven Pressley. The visitors ended a four-game losing streak in the league with a victory at home to St Mirren on Saturday. However, they are yet to win away from home.
Drey Wright and Joe Westley were on the scoresheet in that 3-1 triumph, and both are expected to continue in the team in defence and midfield respectively.
Celtic vs Dundee Predicted Lineups
- Celtic: Schmeichel; Donovan, Trusty, Scales, Saracchi; Engels, McGregor, Hatate; McCowan, Maeda, Hyun-Jun
- Dundee: McCracken; Astley, Graham, Robertson, Wright; Congreve, Westley, Dhanda, Hamilton, Yogane; Murray
Celtic have won four in a row in the top flight and they are the 1/11 favourites to win this clash. Their last two home games in the league ended 4-0 (Falkirk and Kilmarnock) and Celtic and Over 3.5 Goals is marketed at 5/6, which has an implied probability of 54.5%.
Dundee have experienced two stalemates on their travels in the Scottish Premiership this term and the draw is on offer at 9/1.
They are 22/1 to come away with the three points, and they did defeat Celtic at home on October 19.
Celtic vs Dundee Stats
- Celtic have won six league games to nil this season
- The Hoops have scored three goals in four home matches in the league
To Win To Nil - Celtic @ 7/10
Celtic are on a good run of form at the minute and considering they are yet to be beaten at home in the league, the Hoops should be feeling confident heading into this home clash with Dundee.
This may be a side they lost to on the road but the Dee have not been having any luck on their travels as they remain winless away from home. Celtic have had a couple of away games in the lead up to this contest, but they put on two spectacles in their previous two home games in the top flight - with two 4-0 showings.
Celtic have kept five clean sheets in the six league fixtures at Parkhead this season and I think we will see this trend continue on Wednesday. Dundee have the worst away record in the division so I think they will fall to a defeat here and I can't see them having the same luck against the Hoops that they did at Dens Park earlier in the campaign.
Especially when they have found the net just twice away from home.

Home Team Total Goals - Over 2.5 @ 4/9
After scoring eight goals in their last two league outings on home soil, I am expecting another productive attacking display from Celtic. The Hoops have found the net at least three times in four of their six appearances at Celtic Park in the league.
Their tally of 15 goals scored at home is only bettered by Hearts (17) heading into this game, but Celtic have played one game less. Dundee have conceded 14 goals away from home this term, with Hearts and Aberdeen both scoring four against them.
I fancy Celtic to get at least three here as a result as they bid to move to the top of the table.
