Spain U21 vs Ukraine U21 Tips

Boasting a superior goal difference, Spain (8/13) top the Group B ahead of second-placed Ukraine, and a draw would be enough for Santi Denia’s side to secure their progression as group winners.

Spain secured their position in the quarter-finals of this competition courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Croatia on Saturday, after beating Romania in their opening match 3-0.

Avoiding defeat against Ukraine would see La Rojita finish first in Group B, which sets up a clash with the runners-up in Group D in the final eight, which could be Switzerland, France, Norway or Italy.

Meanwhile, Ukraine (18/5) booked their position in the quarter-finals courtesy of a 1-0 success over Romania, after an impressive 2-0 win over Croatia in their opening group game.

Team News

With Spain having the opportunity to top the group, I’m not expecting wholesale changes to the lineup.

However, Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga and Osasuna midfielder Aimar Oroz have featured as substitutes in each of the first two games, so they could be given a start by boss Santi Denia on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Ukraine will not be able to call upon the services of Vladyslav Vanat who saw a straight red card in the win over Romania last time out.

Apart from that, Ruslan Rotan has no fresh injury concerns to deal with.

Correct score – Spain U21 1-0 @ 13/2

With the form that both sides are in, I’m expecting a tight game but I’m giving the edge to Spain in this contest.

Spain have won each of their last 10 competitive games, while the Ukraine lost their last meeting against the Spanish, 3-0.

Spain are on a run of back-to-back wins (and clean sheets) and are unbeaten in last 12 games across competitions since November 2021. La Rojita are five-time winners of the competition and are looking good for another triumph.

Ukraine have won three of their last four, but I think Spain’s quality will prevail.

Abel Ruiz to score anytime @ 21/10

The Braga striker bagged 12 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions for his club this season, and has now scored 11 goals for his national team after his strike against Croatia last time out.

The former Barcelona man needed just 20 seconds to open his account for the tournament, and he’ll be certainly looking to add to his tally here.
