Spain's final warm-up match before Euro 2024 comes against Northern Ireland at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix on Saturday (20:30, Premier Sports 2), and they will be hoping for a more competitive run out than the one they had against Andorra on Wednesday night.

La Roja cruised to a 5-0 victory and while they could score a few more again here, Northern Ireland could make it a tougher test for them. Read on for my Spain vs Northern Ireland prediction, including match odds and team news.

Spain vs Northern Ireland Betting Tips

  • Alvaro Morata first goalscorer @ 5/2
  • Both teams to score @ 11/8

Spain vs Northern Ireland Odds

Spain are the 1/10 favourites to win here, which gives them a 90.9% chance of victory. Northern Ireland are 22/1 to pull off an upset, giving them an implied probability of just 4.3%. The draw is available at 17/2 (10.5%).

Both teams to score is on offer at 11/8 and over 2.5 goals is marketed at 4/11.

Team News

Real Betis' Ayoze Perez netted on his Spain debut against Andorra, opening up the scoring in the 4-0 victory. I correctly tipped him to score the first goal and was denied a clean sweep thanks to the fifth goal by Ferran Torres, having gone for a 4-0 scoreline.

Perez is likely to be dropped down to the bench on this occasion, along with several other players who started against Andorra. Boss Luis de la Fuente could return goalkeeper Unai Simon to the starting XI, and we could see defenders Robin Le Normand and Dani Carvajal line up in front of him.

Wednesday's hat-trick hero Mikel Oyarzabal is likely to keep his place in attack while Alvaro Morata should come in to lead the line.

Northern Ireland veteran Jonny Evans is set to captain his side here as he awaits to sort out his contract extension with Manchester United. Forward Josh Magennis has 11 goals for Michael O'Neill's side and he is set to get the nod up top. He will be putting himself in the shop window as he is currently a free agent.

The likes of Pierce Charles, Aaron Donnelly and Caolan Boyd-Munce will be hoping to earn first caps for the Green and White Army.

Alvaro Morata first goalscorer @ 5/2

As the leading marksman in this current Spain squad with 34 goals to his name, I think Morata is a smart selection to score here, but to find value I've gone with him to open the scoring.

After guessing the first scorer against Andorra correctly the other day, I'm hoping I can deliver again. The striker heads into this international break off the back of a 21-goal haul for Atletico Madrid in all competitions this season, which should bode well for him entering the Euros.

With the quality around him, there should be no shortage of chances coming his way if he does start the match, which is why I think 5/2 offers good value for him to open proceedings in Mallorca.

Alvaro Morata first goalscorer at 5/2 Both teams to score @ 11/8

I'm expecting Northern Ireland to put up more of a fight against La Roja, and I think both teams to score at 11/8 could be a shrewd selection. The Green and White Army have scored in their last three matches and in their recent victories they have beaten two Euro 2024 sides in Scotland and Denmark, who made it to the semi-finals in the previous edition.

Man for man, Northern Ireland cannot match Spain's quality, but they do have players who can cause De la Fuente's side problems. Magennis will be a nuisance up top, as will Bolton Wanderers' Dion Charles.

Of course I'm expecting Spain to come away with another win here to send them off to Germany, but at the very least I can see Northern Ireland grabbing a consolation goal.
