Slovakia U21 vs England U21 Prediction: European champs to keep on rolling

England U21 travel to Slovakia (17:00 GMT) in their Euro 2027 qualifier, with this arguably the biggest test they will face in Group D. Slovakia currently top the group with 13 points from five games, whilst England made it four wins from four with victory over Ireland last time out.

Team News
Trencin striker Adrian Fiala is in good form for his county, having come off the bench to score twice in the 2-1 win over Kazakhstan U21. Expect him to start in place of Adam Griger.
Meanwhile, Lee Carsley has a wonderful squad to choose from here but he could name an unchanged XI here. Divin Mubama missed a penalty but scored the opening goal against Ireland and should lead the line again, with Tyrique George, Ethan Nwaneri and Jamie Gittens offering support.
Josh King and Tyler Dibling are strong options from the bench while Lewis Miley and Jobe Bellingham should feature in midfield. Rico Lewis and Lewis Hall were taken off at full back but should start again in Slovakia.

Slovakia U21 vs England U21 Stats
- England have three wins from four head-to-head games.
- This will be their first meeting since June 2017, when England won 2-1.
- Five of Slovakia's last six games have produced three goals or more.
BTTS @ 8/11
Five of the last six Slovakia games have seen three goals or more and they obviously pose an attacking threat. They’ve won five of their last six games, scoring at least two goals in each of those six outings. England are strong, but I can’t see them keeping this talented Slovakian outfit out - so BTTS looks like a good price.

England to win and BTTS @ 2/1
There should be goals, and I will back Carsley’s men to get the job done again. Four wins from four for the European champions has kept the ball rolling since that dramatic Euros win over Germany U21, and they’ve only lost to Germany and France since the end of 2023.
This squad has so much quality, so I’ll back another England win, with BTTS boosting our odds.
